swelly belly seven months post-op

Hi Sisters,
I am seven months post-op from my TAH/BSO, and was feeling pretty good until today. All of a sudden swelly belly is back, low back pain is back, general pelvic pain is back...just like I use to feel with my endometriosis constantly. I am scared to death that some micro bits of endo tissue remained after my surgery and that perhaps the premarin I'm on has allowed it to start growing again? I asked my doctor repeatedly before having my surgery what the chances were of this and she said slim. However, other things I have read have been as high as a 40 percent reoccurance of endometriosis after a total hysterectomy. Anyone else out there who had severe endo, total hysterectomy and a reoccurance? My husband things I am totally crazy, but I feel like I am about to have my period! I feel horrible.

period pains!

hya Deb - well if your going crazy I am too! I too had endo and am 3 weeks post op - as well as other problem I am having (detailed in my message on board) the other night I couldnt believe it but felt as though i was having period pains and I myself fleetingly questioned my sanity when I told friends about period pain sensation they laughed. It freaked me having been through a total hysterectomy

Just thought i would let you know you are not crazy!

You should join the Endometriosis Association, they have a couple of great books out full of information. Look them up online. From what I have read this is a pretty common occurence and you may have to be taken off the hormones ... from what I've read.
