Hi any hystersisters.........

I had real problems with constipation and also extreme diarhea. I actually had been diagnosed with Crohns disease for a few years prior to my hyst. The Crohns was not an accurate diagnosis. The endo I had was in the colon and intestines really badly, causing the symptoms of Crohns. After surgery, doc said that all was well, that there was no evidence of Crohns. It was all due to female issues. I am now almost 11 weeks post and have had NO constipation or diarhea. SO thankful that things are moving along naturally. And I have had post complications and I DO NOT regret my surgery at all. Still moving a bit slowly and still have some restrictions on what I can do safely, but still very happy that I did this. Hope this helps!!!!

Lots of love and best wishes!!!

Hi any hystersisters.........

I always had problems with constipation before my hyst. It would get worse each month just before my period but it was a constant problem.

I had endo that was attached to my bowel. After my hyst, the constipation problem disappeared.

I have never for one minute regretted having my hyst and I am over 2 years post op now. I had unbelievably painful cramps with my period every month and my periods were getting heavier and heavier as I got older (I was 45 when I had my hyst). I used to get terrible headaches and they've pretty much disappeared too -- I might get a minor headache once in a while but it goes away if I take a few Advil where as before, nothing I took would help. I have trigeminal neuralgia and was on an anti-depressant for that and a blood pressure med (the combination seemed to help the TN but there was still always a lot of pain) and since my hyst that has gotten so much better that with my doc's ok I've quit taking the anti-depressant and cut the blood pressure med in half. I gained 9 pounds after my hyst but then got serious about watching what I eat and have lost 23 pounds in the last year.........in my case life is a lot better since I had the surgery.

Best of luck to you!!
