back ache

I am scheduled for TAH/BSO May 5 and just got my last period. Two days prior I got such bad lower back pain It has lasted 3 days so far. Can anyone tell me if this goes on after hyst or does it stop when the ovaries are gone. I also get breast pain. I am 55 and hope not to have to take HRT when this is over, but will have to wait and see.

back pain

At 7 weeks post- op I can tell you that my ongoing back pain was relieved following TAH. (kept ovaries - no HRT). Breasts did get tender for a couple days when I would have normally had my period, but not more than 'normal' for me. I have to say this surgery was the best thing I've done for myself. Didn't realize how bad I felt until symptoms were gone. Good luck with yours!

back ache

I had a TAH/BSO also. Breast pain - I'm assuming you mean during PMS - I don't have it anymore. I am taking HRT.

back ache

Nighthawk,
I am due to start my period within 3 days (scheduled for surgery 5/9) and yesterday begin to get the back pain from h*ll again. Felt like back labor with nausea. It's lessoning today but i know it'll stick around til surgery and i feel like walking around all bent over, like the little old woman who lived in the shoe or something. I'm glad you asked about this, and i'm glad to see the answers too!
Good luck on the 5th

Back in pain

Thanks for bringing this up. My back has been killing me before my periods and during, well actually constantly, but worse before and during. Reading the replies has been helpful. Many tell me that I will be joyfully surprised after this is over. I am adopting that attitude and projection. Postive thnking, thanks for that seed.

Back Pain & PMS

& s To All

I too have Back pain before my periods. Because of the discomfort before and the heavy bleeding during, both Doc and I decided to remove both ovaries, the R one is going anyway due to a cyst. I don't want to take a chance on suffering any more!!!
Here's to a pain free & pad free life

back ache

I, too, am having back pain. Even while on depo provera shots, I have been experiencing back pain around the time when I should be having a period. I can't stand it. I sure hope my TAH/BSO on next week makes it go away.

back/side pain

I sometimes feel pressure/discomfort in my right lower back, right side. I wonder if this is caused by my fibroids/enlarged uterus or something else. Is this where your pains are located too?
