Lupron, pain, bowels

Any ideas?!?

I went on Lupron on Thursday evening. I've been having right sided pain (left one ovary in) and doctor wanted to put me on it to see if the pain would go away.

Well, I had my estrogen level checked and it was a little low - I've been on constant birth control pills since November to keep ovarian cysts away. I've been having mood swings and mini hot flashes.

Keep in mind that I've been on Tylenol 3 for a little over a month now and occasionally get stopped up - but only for about a day. I went yesterday and was fine.

I still had some pain in my side yesterday.

Now, this morning, I felt like I was on my first day of my period again. I've gone to the bathroom every hour since 6am. Its normal, but I don't know if I have anything left in me. Very sore inside when I sit down or get up around my bowels. I feel extremely crampy too. Is this normal since supposedly the Lupron raises my estrogen level for two weeks first? I also had about 6 hot flashes yesterday and one this morning.

I just feel horrible. Any ideas or comments would help. I don't want to call my doctor yet unless this persists.

Lupron, pain, bowels

Phoebe:

Sorry to hear you are having more pain...hope a will help...

Your symptoms will normally get worse rather than better at first on the Lupron. I am not sure if this explains the rapid emptying of your bowel, but maybe ... especially if you have endo on your bowel and it is inflammed at the moment.

Why not go ahead and call your docs office? Might ease your mind? [I am not one to criticize on this point ... being a bit of a procrastinator myself on calling my doc]

Lupron, pain, bowels

Phoebe~

I can't be of much help on the Lupron issue. My doc suggest a course of it post op, but I had heard so much negative stuff about it that I told her no. Might be a decision that I regret in the end since I'm having cyclic pain now that makes me wander if the endo is back. I agree with Michelle about giving the doctor a call...better safe than sorry. Gentle s to you!

Lupron, pain, bowels

Thank you so much for writing me

The problem seems to have disappeared for the moment. If it returns, I'll call the doctor then. I hope its not endo in my bowels - I've never had that before - that I know of
We'll see what happens over the next month. I hope that if it is endo again that it goes away - but that's wishful thinking in terms of endo lol
Just have to keep the sense of humor and try to be optimistic.

Thanks again

Phoebe
