CATAPRES TTS1 Patch

Have had my hormone levels drawn 3 times since my TVH they left both ovaries now they can't visualize the left on my hormone levels look normal but, having bouts of hot flashes nite sweats, heart palpaptations? SO today the dr. put me on the catapres patch used for high blood pressure which have have low blood pressure? anyone elses dr put them on this and has it helped? also have had tenderness in both breast and don't know where to turn? anyone help?

Hi, I don't know to much about the Catapres Patch other than the fact my cousin has a high stress job which was making her blood pressure go up and she was having tons of heart palpatations. Her Doctor tried her on several things and then he put her on the Catapres Patch and she says it has done wonders. It does not make her drugged feeling and now she is not having heart palpations and blood pressure went down. She is also walking and learning how to deal with the stress from her job. I hope it works for you. Oh, she did say she itched the first few days but that it went away.

Hi! Clonidine (which is what Catapres is) has been used in its oral form for hot flashes for a while now, but I haven't seen anything about the patch until just recently. Here's a link about it:

If you do a search here on Clonidine you will find sisters who've had varying degrees of success with it for treating high blood pressure and hot flashes.
