Sorry so grosse...but Bad Diarrea

Hi all. I am 15 days TAH/BSO Post op and today I went out and about most of the day and was VERY worn out when I arrived home...I had bad belly pain and my burns were throbbing....anyways...I had such bad pains in my tummy again that I took some Gas X. About 1/2 hour later I started with diarrea....and it kept coming and coming and coming. I am so sore now...belly and hiney. Is this normal for over doing it or just normal for post op? Anybody know???

This isn't normal...maybe you have a virus...Drink lots of fluids, notify your doctor and let him know if you have any fever too.

Hi! I've been to Kaneohe Bay!! It's so beautiful.....

I don't know about the diarhea. You might want to call your DR for suggestions and to let them know how you are doing.

I do know about the painful tummy/ bad belly pain. It is your body's way of telling you that you are overdoing it. Slow down! It's the only way to avoid feeling miserable like that. And in addition, you could be running the risk of causing yourself some avoidable complications. It's best to take it easy. Listen to your body. You want to heal right the first time!!!

It takes alot of energy for your body just to do the healing it needs to do right now! You have many incisions that are trying to heal inside (and out)! Be sure to rest in a reclining position with your feet up. That takes the pressure off your abdomen.

Some fatigue is normal even if you are getting the pampering you need and deserve.

I hope you feel better soon

I went from EXTREME constipation to four days of diarrhea. I think I was overcompensating because I so feared more constipation. Did you try Pepto Bismal or Kaopectate? This helped me every day. Make sure you drink lots of fluids, especially water, as you will get dehydrated. A thirst quencher, like PowerAid is also good for replacing the electrolytes you're losing from the diarrhea. If it keeps up, you should call your doc. Good luck!
