I am up with the roosters today but because I went to bed early, that's just fine.
Dh & ds are at a scout campout and other son is oo town so the girls & I had a relaxing evening. I'm trying to clean out cupboards etc....boring chore but such lovely results! everything sparkly...
Dh picked up a yard of mushroom compost yesterday so we shoveled it out & spread it around the yard. Yup, that was me you smelled, out there in my boots with a wheelbarrow & shovel knee deep in........ compost.
Today we are having 10 yards of mulch delivered so exercise is a no-brainer.
We're attending a graduation party late afternoon & I will eat pizza there but will consider it my supper & suppose I will have earned it & burned it with all of that mulch business.
(oh boy, i'm a poet.)
Shirley, I finally picked up some local honey & will begin taking it daily. Thanks for that tip. This crew can use lots of help in that area.
Hope you all have an OP, BEST Sunday! Enjoy the day!
WE ARE OP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good morning ladies. I've gotten over my disappointing May challenge results, and have posted my new plan for June. It's a bright sunny day out, I've walked to the video store to return, and over to the market to get the paper. Breakfast was OP, lunch is fixin ta be. The sun is shining, and my sweetie is out by the pool waiting for me so we can have a water fight (new super soakers).
I slept in a bit this a.m. and read a great book - The Ballad of Gussie and Clyde by Aaron Latham. It's a wonderful book! Next I'm starting on the Diana Gabaldon Outlander series. I've read some of them before, but want to read the new one and have forgotten lots of stuff! Anyway, it feels really good to just relax.
I'm headed to put my shoes on so I can exercise. I worked in the yard for a short time yesterday, but I'm missing my aerobics.
Three weeks till I leave for Branson and I want to be able to wear my shorts. So the June challenge will certainly be a challenge for me - especially when I go on the trip. The girls I will be working with love to eat and shop...and of course, so do I!
My goals are to eat everything (well, not everything!) in moderation, get plenty of water, rest, and increase exercise. My main goal is to get into all the size 12's and 10's in my closets. But that will take a few months, but this is how I'm going to do it -baby steps!!!
xena - we are doing yard work too and hope to lay sod in 2 weeks. One piece of pizza is good w/ lots of salad/veggies.
Hi to Bliss, Ann, BSQ, Blu,Tamara, the Dawns, Desk, EM, Shirley, and everybody I've missed! Welcome to the new sisters!
I just stepped on the scale and realized that I've lost 5 pounds! I was pleasantly surprised! I went to check my May challenge goals and realized that I had not even posted them! 5 pounds was my April goal, but I didn't do very well that month. I was down and depressed - guess I didn't want to admit that I flubbed in April, so didn't want to post for May! Anyway, May is the month that I have been motivated to make some changes!
What amazes me is how our minds work. I'm in complete denial sometimes and tend to block things out. I just stopped thinking about the 5 pounds and concentrated on each choice I made. Not on purpose, either. That made it a little easier, because it's been painless to make these choices. But subconsciously, I wanted to post a loss (which I haven't done, BTW, since I joined this board in December. In fact, since then I had gained 8 pounds!!)
I'm finally on track and so grateful to you all for keeping me going. I attribute my successes to checking in for a daily dose of realism, wise advice, and tips and tricks that I've picked up along the way.
Okay, I MUST get with it now! Talk to you all tomorrow!!!
Sherry
Hi BEST friends Been very OP for the past two days... and even Friday wasn't so bad, considering the fact that we had going away to attend
I've been biking and walking and eating right and am hoping that the will be good and will show a big loss: I need to get back to my goal weight before I have a 2 week break from weigh-in due to a end-of-year PTA meeting/party next week and being in Winnipeg the week after.... keeping my fingers crossed!!!
(((Xena)))) sounds like you have busy week-end all planned ahead. Hope you take some time to relax, amongst all of the cleaning.
(((Bliss)))) Your day sounds like my day: cold, windy and kindof cloudy... though the sun is breaking through this afternoon.
((((BSQ)))) Hope you enjoy your water fight... those Super-Soakers sure are "loaded" with fun (excuse the pun... couldn't help myself)... I liked your idea of taking the June Challenge week-by-week. I might just do that myself.
((((Sherry)))) WooHoo on loosing the 5 lbs in May. Way to go in winning the challenge. Hope things continue to go well for you for June!!!
Not much new today. Didn't eat on OP, I don't tend to do that well on the weekends, we are on the go an awful lot fo grab things here and there. But we did have some really good Chicken Kababs for supper and I had fresh cut up veggies with it.
We went to our local flea market this morning and then did some yard work this after noon, here is part of my post over on the Post-Op board - it was so funny:
"I wish I had a picture of me today helping dh out in the yard.
We were (he was) raking the lawn and I asked if I could help him and he said 'sure, hang on' and he went in the shed, got my dd's little pink snow shovel and told me to scoop up the raked up grass and put it in the compost. So that is what I did, me and my princess shovel!
Neighbors were laughing their guts out at me...heheheh....I was glad to be giving them a laugh I thought it was hilarious too! Thought I would share that with you all - you can never take it too far being a princess. And I'm some glad for my prince to still think I am still so delicate ;o)"
I am hoping to gey out for a walk this evening but we have some pretty threatening clouds out there, so it might be on to the treadmill.
Evening ladies! Just popping in as I'm doing laundry and watching my shoulders turn redder. (I didn't think we were out by the pool THAT long). Today has turned out OP. We ate light for lunch (shrimp) and grilled some chicken for dinner. I turned mine into a chicken ceasar salad using wishbone Just2Good creamy ceasar dressing. I didn't win the super soaker battle.
Sherry! Congratulations on the 5lb loss during May! That is absolutely AWESOME!
BLuzSuz: I absolutely love your princess story. This coming from a gal who has worn a tiara to the supermarket while being pushed in the cart. (I haven't pushed a grocery cart or carried a grocery bag since 1999)
Okay, time to get some aloe on these shoulders. I hope you all have a BEST (and relaxing) evening.
I'm happy to report that I'm doing better about my eating. Opted not to go with DH last night as he was going to stay to play cards. I had a bagel with fat free cream cheese and a salad with fat free dressing for dinner while he was gone.....that's what I was craving, what can I say. He came back with pizza and wings, I ate one wing and put the rest in the fridge....he polished off the wings later on last night and I had the one slice of pizza for lunch today. The rest of my day has been OP even though I snacked on some pretzels with mustard late this afternoon.
Must have been the day for cleaning out the cabinets I did mine too..........
Congrats Sherry on the 5 lb loss!
Bluz -- love the idea of your princess shovel!!
BSQ -- I'm jealous of you being able to get any -- it has FINALLY quit raining here but it didn't get above 50 degrees. Skies have cleared and tomorrow is supposed to go up to 70. After my gym class tomorrow I'm picking up some new flowers to hang off the back patio and then I'm going to take my book out in the yard and enjoy looking at the new flowers!!
Dany -- I have my fingers crossed for your weigh-in too!!
Xena -- please let us know how the honey works out for you.
BTW, besides cleaning today (and I really did major cleaning but it's nice seeing everything look so sparkly as Xena said) I also finished ironing the interfacing on the back of all those t-shirt squares. Next step is to start sewing them together but since it's all done by machine that's really the easy part. So I did have a pretty active day even though I did take an hour nap this afternoon :lol
Tomorrow is a combined step/weights class.......my muscles just got over being sore, maybe I won't have any soreness afterwards......
Hi all, sorry to check in so late, and it's definitely past my bedtime. But I slept in, then went out to breakfast, then came home, walked the dogs, baked an angel food cake and then we had company, then I napped, then we walked again, then had dinner and I've gotten tomorrow's breakfast and lunch all ready - not much to show for the day but I did which is always a good thing in my book!
I am proud of everyone's progress and goals. I experienced the sensation of "fullness" for the first time in a long time this evening, so maybe there is hope for me yet.
Ann your choices sound good, as usual. Good luck on the classes tomorrow. I have not jumped on the tramp today, but tomorrow is a Curves day, opening day of their second franchise. I go there after the chiropractor. Still pretty achy, wondering if the Estratest might be the cause.
BSQ you eat the best sounding meals! And playing by the pool sounds fun although the sunburn does not. Hope that heals fast! If that Wishbone Caesar dressing is good, I must try it. That's my favorite, and although Ken's is good, I prefer the full fat one over the lite version. So let's see what Wishbone has to offer
Suz, that's funny! My dh didn't let me in the yard to help for months. But the only thing I really like to do is mow, and that would have been tough on me while healing, I suppose.
Dany, you continue to be an inspiration with your biking and being op. I bet you will do well with all the temptations coming up. Lots of parties, lots of fun!
Miz, congratulations that is wonderful news! Hmm, I forgot that I have to weigh in on Tuesday. Oh well, I suppose I did this to myself, and BEST will work with me toward keeping me on track. All I have to do is pay attention!
Bliss, soon you will get the nice weather, I'm sure. We had a lovely day here, lots of sun and a brisk cool breeze. I keep expecting more rain and yuck, but it's been very clear. So that weather should be headed your way!
Xena, enjoy your compost it's good stuff, eh? The wind blew hard enough today that I could not smell you working up there. I guess it's a good thing, too.
Back to bed, nothing accomplished today but it was definitely relaxing. No complaints!
