The Hostess Tasks:
Hostesses are volunteers (unpaid) who are assigned to specific forums for the purpose of overseeing discussions. They may move, edit, merge, split or close threads in an attempt to make sure the member's questions are supported in the best possible way. Because Hostesses are also members, they may add support information where their experience allows and pass out hugs.

The Hostess Teapot:
The teapot has been the selected symbol of the Hostesses since the community of forums was added to the website. It symbolizes friendship over a cup of tea, kindness extended when a sister is in need.

Hostess Selection:
Hostesses are women who have been members of HysterSisters.com and are selected to be "on hostess staff" based on the support they offer to other members, kindness in tone and their regular visit to the website. Becoming a hostess for a specific forum is usually rewarded to users who are particularly helpful and knowledgeable in the subject of the forum they are moderating. HysterSisters.com does not accept applications for the position of Hostess.
