New email virus: Please read

From the Hysterectomy News Articles List

There is a new email virus going around that you might get that looks like this:
  Quote:

Dear user of hystersisters.com gateway e-mail server,

Some of our clients complained about the spam (negative e-mail content) outgoing from your e-mail account. Probably, you have been infected by a proxy-relay trojan server. In order to keep your computer safe, follow the instructions.

For further details see the attach.

For security purposes the attached file is password protected. Password is "15556".

Sincerely,
The hystersisters.com team https://www.hystersisters.com
This is NOT from us. And if you open the attachment by entering the password, you WILL get a virus. And it will be nasty.

Hystersisters.com sits on a UNIX machine that does not get the PC viruses. The owner of hystersisters.com (me!) does not have a PC but a Mac which is also incapable of getting PC viruses like this.

Understand that these email viruses "spoof" the real generator of the email virus to confuse the issue. Spoofing means that the email virus will select an email from an email address book to pretend the email originated from.

Be safe. Run updates to your norton to protect your computer from these nasty things.
