I am the Beautiful Woman my Wonderful Husband has always known I've been

From the Vaginal Hysterectomy Stories Articles List

I hope you feel like a the beautiful woman that you are!!!

I cried for 3 weeks while making the decision to have my hysterectomy thinking I would not be a woman anymore.

I do not feel that way at all anymore!!!!! I am 10 days post op. Everything has gone smoothly for me. I feel very good. I had a few days where hormones felt like they were trying to adjust...or it could be that the progesterone I'd been taking was still leaving my body. But I would have this overwhelming sadness hit and I would tear up. But it didn't last long.

I have a wonderful husband who has made me feel so beautiful through all this. I told him how I felt about losing the most important womanly part of my body. He told me that that part of me is sick and keeping me from feeling like the woman I am and once it is removed I will again feel beautiful to myself. He is right. I am 48 with adult daughters, so this now will also free us from the worry of late in life pregnancy.

We have hardly had any intimate moments since my problems began a year ago. He has not expected anything from me in all this time and I know it was hard for him.( He does understand because we had the same situation during a year of illness for him when he had a mass removed from his testicle)

We have taken walks together since I have been home, and he has napped with me and told me over and over again what a beautiful woman I am. I am so lucky to have him.

The body part that is no longer there does not make you a woman. You and your life, and the life you shine on others makes you a Beautiful Woman.

Take care and feel beautiful!
