Why I had to have a hysterectomy! I had my 2nd son on april2, 2013. In August I found out I was pregnant again. Went in for US on 8-28 and there was no heartbeat, fetus was 8 weeks 1 day but they also found that the pregnancy was not in the uterus where it should be. The pregnancy implanted outside the uterus. (This is very uncommon and dangerous ) my drs practice has only seen 3 of these in the past year. The pregnsncy had somehow attached to my csection scar.

The next course of action was to decide if a hysterectomy was thw right thing for me. After talking with my dr my husband and I decided this was the right action to take.

I was on careful watch for 5 days before surgery be c ause there was a chance that I could start bleeding. I did not stsrt bkeeding and had my surgery on September 4. Surgery started just ib time becuase the pregnancy was growing behind my bladder and once he moved the bladder I started bleeding.

Surgery went well and I feel great. I think it helps that I had 2 csections and was awsre if the pain I would indure. So recovery has been fantastic.

I believe god had a plan and it wasnt forus to have a 3rd child. I am 38 and thw chances of us getting pregnant again and not having the same issue or others was daunting to me and had to come to terms with the descion. Today I know having the hysterectomy was the right choice per my dr he would not have been able to repair my uterus it was so damaged from this that a hysterectomy was the onky way to go.

I am blessed with 2 beautiful boys and am looking forward to the next chapter of my life. My husband and I believe god akways has a plan, we may not understand why when it happens but afterwards things make sense.
