What should I do, or not do, to help my hot flashes?
Hot flashes can one of the most miserable and annoying symptoms of menopause. They can arrive several times a day, all day long, and leave you hot, sweaty, tired, and frustrated. Though they can be challenging to cope with, there are several tips for beating hot flashes that can help you manage them and minimize their impact on your daily life!
DO THIS:NOT THAT:- Don't eat spicy foods, dairy products, excessive sweats–especially chocolate, and lots of carbs.
- Don't drink hot liquids, excessive alcohol, and caffeine.
- Don't smoke.
- Don't stress out or participate in anger inducing activities.
- Don't sleep with lots of blankets, down comforters, or sheets with a high thread count.
- Don't dress too warmly.
- Don't wear wool, silk, synthetic, tight, or constricting clothing.
- Don't soak in the hot tub.
- Don't use a sauna.
- Don't keep the temperature high.
