Where did they go? 09-19-2004 - 10:21 PM
Has it really been that long since I lost my cervix? I'm reminded every time I lean against my kitchen counters and it HURTS! Why does it hurt so much? Is it tissue damage from the surgery? Is it residial emotional damage? Who knows.

One thing is for certain, I'm not making this pain up. My wonderful gyno, not the one who performed "THE" surgery, told me my ovaries need a rest. Heck. My brain needs a rest.

Maybe if DH and I didn't go through 17 months of trying to sell our house before we finally got to move into the home on the lake (after paying 2 mortgages) for, did I mention, 17 MONTHS...things would be different for me physically. I've always been emotional. IBS--was diagonsed at 17. Well, back then they called it a sensitive stomach and gave me Donnatol.

Now I'm so much older and this surgery, 4 years later, is still doing a number on me. Let's face it--how many of us, in our lifetimes get to experience being cut open from pubic bone to belly button? The answer? Not many. I guess we're the unlucky ones. I just wish it wouldn't hurt to lean against my counters. And to be intimate with my husband.

Four years gone. Where did they go?
