Ok, ok, I look dumb as a blond...No WAY am I letting on to DH....I stopped and looked at my reflection in the mirror today, it did not change who I am. Maybe that is what I was trying to do?? I dont know but I am even unprettier than I was before. I dont know if I got my eyebrows waxed it if would help, but YUCK!!

Now before you all go and get hyped on me not being pretty, my face is not pretty. I am ok with that. I have gorgeous eyes, if you can see them beneath the big bushy brows. My beauty comes from within...I understand this now better than ever. DH must see something pretty when he does look at me but then he is blind!! hehe I add a whole new meaning to the term "dumb blond'...

I am eating healthier, which means no I have not succeessfully gotten rid of the monkey that plagues me. i will ask my doctor for a tip or two on Tuesday but he will tell me to just quit cold turkey. That wont be helpful....

DH has tons of homework to do for Monday so I best be gettin off and naggin him to get it done...I will be back later to update on how my day is progressing. I get to redo my hair to see if I can make it a color where I wont need a hat to leave my house. A lady who considers herself MY friend (notice I said she considers, I dont really) asked me in a tone yesterday "What have you done to your hair?" I told her it was a work in progress...Her response "A work in progress, thats good!" That means if it doesnt get fixed today, I either shave it or go vivid red....Impulsive decisions are bad....Never again will I allow my DS to control what I do with my hair!!

I was born a redhead. I mean copper penny red, freckles, blue eyes. I have Danish heritage on my Dad's side.

By the time I was 14, it was more of an auburn... heavy on the brunette and easy on the red highlights. Summer time I looked more red from being sun bleached.

Now, in my 40's, what once was brunette is turning silver. But the red is just a fading strawberry blonde. Pretty funky look, actually.

In my early 30s I used to try to dye it auburn(er?). Clairol Herbal color worked great 6 times, using it every 3 months or so. When I went to use it the 7th time, I must have got a bum bottle. I turned burgundy/purple. The teenage girls I worked with asked me whether I was using the color formula for my own race, it looked so silly. That was the last time I tried to color myself auburn.

I once tried for an ash blonde at a beauty salon. Problem is I have so much red in my hair, I pulled strawberry instead. Since I have such silly hair that won't go the color the bottle shows, I've pretty much given up on chemical enhancements.

I'm going to wait until I'm totally grey and then I'll put a shocking pink wash on it like that old broad on "Are You Being Served?" reruns on PBS.

Good luck to you as you search for a "solution" (pun intended).

Well here I sit, still with orange hair...and less than an hour to go to figure out how to make it blond. I am seriously at this point comtemplating the bleach bottle downstairs by my washing machine, or finding the clippers. I just may have completley ruined my hair. I have to laugh. DH is teasing me about leaving the house with a hat on. I look terrible in hats. I may just go grey gracefully after this, and to heck with looking young. I actually had a young man ask me at work last year, who did my hair!! He loved the white and dark brown mix....Shoulda listened, when you get a compliment like that from a young man!! Oh no, gotta look my age, cant be grey yet.... Well the more I look around, the more ladies my age that have grey!! When did I get so old!! I have had grey since I was 12, thanks to my dear brother dropping me on my head as a baby....That explains a lot doesnt it dear sisters!!!

I've never been brave enough to dye my hair. I have reddish-auburn hair like Sanguiness, and read Anne of Green Gables as a child.
It totally freaked me out when I read that while trying to dye her hair black, it turned green!!
Don't know why, but that always stayed with me, and thought I'd just try to go gray gracefully like my Mom did. So far, a few strands of gray here and there, not too many though.

As far as the smoking goes, can you get your DH to quit with you?
I'm guessing it would be really difficult to quit if you are still watching your DH smoke. I couldn't resist chocolate if my DH was eating it in front of me either.

Oh, don't you just hate it when "friends" say such things to you? When I was younger a "friend" used to ask me, "Do You LIKE your hair that way?" Can you get any meaner??? I guess your "friend" could win the meaner prize.

Take care. I'm sure your hair isn't as bad as you think it is. S~Moonchime

Before you grab the bleach bottle--go to the store and buy some L'Oreal Les Blondessimes hair color in "Very Light Beige Blond." That's what I use. You can check out my haircolor on my website and the HS photo page. Good luck! S~Moonchime
