Anytime someone is scheduled for a hysterectomy, there is always a chance that they may have to have a TAH. It all just depends on what the doctors find and if they are able to get to the things they need to get to, like in your case.

As far as packing, I would maybe pack a few things just in case and maybe leave the bag in the car or even at home. Someone can always bring it to you if you need it.

If you are going to pack, I wouldn't pack much, you won't need it if you are anything like me. I brought a book, but could not see well enough to read the entire time I was in the hospital.

I just watched TV, slept, or walked the halls.

I packed chapstick, lotion, tooth brush and paste, slippers, and comfy clothes to go home in and that was it!

Hopefully you don't have to have the TAH (although it's not as bad as some think) and you can go home that night!
