Doctor says I have a cervical stump prolapse

My doctor says I have a cervical stump prolapse where my cervix is dropping low into my vagina. He is proprosing a vaginal surgery to remove this. I had a supra cervical hysterectomy in 1998. I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem and had surgery or is there an alternative?
I have heard that possibly some doctors will tack it back up.
I am new to the forum and would appreciate all the info I can get. Thanks!

Hi!

I hope you are able to find information to help you decide what's best for you in these circumstances.

Princess Ruby linked a variety of message boards which are generally good matches for members as far post-op as you are. Enjoy having a look at them and the others that make up this site. In the forum called Road Less Traveled you'll find others who have experience with having a trachelectomy (removal of the cervix). Hopefully someone will know of cases where an alternative to that surgery was successful.

We look forward to getting to know you!
