It Worked! Climara patch on 1wk.

I posted asking for suggestions to keep my Climara patch on for the full week. All of the replies were very helpful, and I tried them all...
-I showered and towel dried, as usual.
-I did not apply any lotion or powder.
-I used a hair dryer to dry the area on my back side. I chose to place the patch slightly lower than I was wearing it (where my jean pockets ride), to avoid my clothing rubbing it off and excess movement.
-I cleaned the area with alcohol.
-I removed the backing from my patch, leaving it off for 20 seconds before applying.
-While backing was off, I warmed the area once again with a hair dryer.
-I placed the patch on, while holding pressure for 30 seconds.
I know it may sound like a long process, but it only took a couple minutes. The most important thing is... it WORKED! It didn't budge all week!
Thank you to all who replied to my initial post!
I hope this will help other sisters too!

YIPPEE! I'm glad your efforts paid off. I'm fortunate enough to say that I have never lost a Climara patch.

It Worked! Climara patch on 1wk.

Great advice.

I haven't been able to keep it on for a week or clean looking. Hate that "dirt" ring around it. One morning I got out of bed and it stuck to the sheet!

I didn't know to let it sit before you apply it!

Gonna try it.

Quick fix for keeping the patch on...

I've struggled with keeping the Climara patch on for a whole week as well. Here's what I've done in a pinch...

After applying the patch, I put a tegaderm dressing over it.
I'm an O.R. nurse and have easy access to these dressings (they look like a piece of saran wrap and are very sticky on one side). Anyone can buy them in Walmart, CVS, RiteAid, etc. Our surgeons use them as dressings. They stay on in the shower, swimming, perspiration, etc.

My GYN says that this doesn't affect the Climara Patch and it is fine to do this.

Hope this helps. I will also try letting the patch sit a few seconds before applying.
