Hello ladies!!!

This is my first post since my TAH on April 16th!! I have not really had any bleeding or spotting and my incision is peeling like crazy. I had lost 3 pounds before surgery and when I went to my first post op appointment, I had lost 3 pounds! I was really disappointed! Everyone has commented that I have lost weight and the doctor said he removed some fatty tissue from my abdomen.....so what is the deal with that! I have not had any major issues, my body does still get sore and I get soreness at my incision. I too get insomnia, but all in all it has not been as bad as I thought it would be. I have recently started having headaches and chills. Anyone else experience that?

I also don't have a big appetite anymore either, but I guess that is a good thing!

Well I had the tummy tuck at the same time. and the swellingis twice as nice, believe me. I can't fit into any of my clothes either. I'm looking forward to the time. At least I only have to wear scrubs for work. i've had lots of weird pains but according to the schedule I'm right on target even though my gyn said I should be pushing now to gain stamina,

I've noticed ache/pain behind belly button and just below, but I had the lap procedure and the TAH so I guess I expected it and really hope that it'll go away. I know what some of you mean by feeling like there's pressure and like something's about to fall out. I called the Dr. and they want me to have a UA to rule out bladder infection. Hope it's just normal ;-)

It's so nice to know we're not alone in our weird pains and achs and smells!!!
I don't have the pressure feeling, mine is mainly a ACHE were my uterus used to be. As the day goes on, it gets achy-er. Yesterday was the first day where I didn't feel super tired by mid-day, it was a treat!!!! Hoping the tired-ness is gone... but I suspect it will rear it's ugly head again, it's just been a month.
Thank God for sweat pants and loose clothing, this swellyness is awful!
best to you all !

Hello Ladies,

Well, today it's my birthday, and I am exactly one month and one day post-op. My husband greeted me this morning with a beautiful bouquet of flowers and a lovely card with a personal message (very eloquent). I am counting my blessings. Even though I am still on the road to recovery, I have so much to be thankful for, and this includes this website of HysterSister's. This can be a lonely road, but with the help of our sister's, we know we are never alone.

My best wishes to each of you on your road to recovery, and let us take the time to smell the roses, appreciate our family and friends and give thanks to Our Lord for His many blessing.

Hiker Lady

Went for my 4 week check up today and the doc released me to do whatever I want! She did say to start back slow with the exercising. I asked about the feeling that something was going to fall out down there and she said it was from constipation --go figure. I guess MOM will be my new best friend. I just hope she is right and once I get regular that feeling will go away. She did say the soreness will go away in time but everything else looked good. She also said the swelly belly is nothing but gas and it should also go away. I am scared about the sex thing -- has anyone out there done the deed since surgery and was it okay?

I had my surgery on April 19. I was really feeling pretty good, almost normal, so I went for a fitting for my son's wedding, walked on the treadmill at a slow speed for only 15 min. went to the store, then we had a barbeque and all my kids came. That night I still felt great. The next morning I felt like I regressed to my first week. I was tearym scared and felt horrible. I was so tired, I stayed in bed the whole day. The next day I did feel much much better, but I am still shaky. I guess this is normal. I had everything removed. I have three cuts at the hair line and the bellybutton. My belly button still reminds me that something was done, and it is not healed yet. Better days ahead..............
