Tuesdays are bad days!

Last week it was Tuesday when I felt so bad and today I am so sore and just icky feeling. I am thinking I did it to myself though.

1.) Last night I had two glasses of wine with dinner. Perhaps that played a role.

2.) Last night the little scab in my belly button kept looking at me and taunting me. Finally I had to show it who was boss and pulled it off. It didn't bleed but my belly button feels like it has a little knife poking it today.

3.) I got up this morning and played on the computer for like 3 hours. I don't know why but I get sucked into a time warp. I don't realize how long I have sat in front of it until I start hurting.

4.) I should have stopped ate the bologna and cheese sandwich at lunch. Not move along to the large wedge of giant chocolate chip cookie and milk too. But it is SOOO good. My boyfriend has started calling me the Cookie Monster because I have been putting a hurt on the giant 12 inch cookie. (Remember I made that on Saturday night.) "C is for cookie. That's good enough for me!"

I am so excited my doctor gave me the "okay" to take baths last Friday. So I am going to take my first long relaxing bath in just a few moments. Hopefully that will make me feel better. Usually it does the trick. For whatever reasons, baths soothes everything from upset tummys to aching muscles for me.

I hope everyone else is having a good Tuesday.

Hi Idyham77.
How did all of your glue come undone? I had my hysterectomy on Aug 2nd & was also glued. Can't believe you went back to work so soon. How are you feeling now? I too had awful gas pains & they hurt like heck!! Best of luck to you!!

my first outing!

I am doing remarkably well! I am 11 days post op and got up showered, put my make up on and dressed went on a 10 minute car ride to take care of a business matter, and then DH and I went to one of our fav chinese food places for an early lunch. Rode in his SUV too, and although it used to hurt my left hip to ride in his car even for 15 minutes, it did not hurt today! I do think that pain was somehow related to the fibroids.
I was up for about two hours, came home, zipped back into the compression garment, cuddled into bed and laid the ice pack on my tummy!
Good news, I am an inch less in the waist line that the day prior to surgery and I am about 7 pounds lighter! I have very little swelling and it appears to be only right at the scar site, it has a little bubbly bulge just below my belly button, I expect to see my stomach flat in the next week or so at the rate things are going.
I have lived with an ice pack on and in the surgical garment and have taken that homeopathic Arnica Montana to help with the swelling. I expect to be up and feeling and looking good enough to do an open house this coming weekend! Until then, I am laying low, resting and ice packing!
I never dreamed I would feel this good or heal this fast!
Hope you all are doing better each day too! Happy Healing!

The weight thing is a mystery. I lost 10 pounds after surgery but am still the same puffy belly size. I'm hoping I will lose the curvy stomach as swelling and liquids in that area calm and disappear.

Drove for the first time today -- it was like a whole new world opened up. I think some normalcy is in my future. . . .

My incisions were glued, and have since all split open. I returned to work on August 13th, and am doing well now, but I can honestly say I am so proud you are out here to better inform everyone of what will happen, so they are not as misinformed as I was.

Idyham77 - I also just had my uterus removed (LSH) and had three incisions, but they were stitched. My Dr refused to let me go back to work for 6 weeks (I'm out until the 17th of Sept); but I'm still very sore. There is no way I could go back to work right now. If you are having to work, please rest as much as possible!!!! Worried about you. Keep us updated as to your progress.

bren, I had TVH as well. I feel awesome! How are you doing?
2 weeks today and I really do forget I had the surgery. I started moving furniture back into the living room this morning after DS steam vac'ed yesterday. I started to lift the edge of the couch and it kind of hurt - I was like DUH! So I left it there. I put end tables back and got them polished.
I haven't had any discharge and haven't had any blood at all. I keep looking thinking maybe I did something this morning but so far so good.
I feel up to traveling but need to wait for Dr's approval before we head to Bellevue, Washington this weekend to see a Mariners game. I think I will book hotels today and cancel if I have to.
I steam vac'ed the hallway today and wasn't stressed at all. Had DS finish when he got up. Then had a nice bath.
So how are you doing?

are you back at the gym? I am a little sore..sometimes get a "twinge" in the lower area, but havent seen any stitches at all. for the most part I feel normal, but can get tired doing things. went food shopping with my daughter, and college shopping with my son and that wiped me out. havent lifted anything at all...doing some laundry, but not carrying the basket up stairs. I do have some light blood but just wearing light pad, nothing terrible at all. I have to say all in all, the surgery was better than expected. I want to get back to the gym to lift, but probably not a good idea at all..
thanks so much for your time ....glad you are well!
