Hi Jackie and welcome to Hystersisters!
I am so sorry to hear how you have suffered with endometriosis, and at such a young age.
While a hyst is very rare at your age, it does happen and we have members here who have needed to have a hyst at about your age.
You ask for recommendations on finding a doctor. It is not our mission to endorse any particular doctor. However, we do have an article with links to the state medical boards and other websites that will allow you to "check out" a doctor's background. Here is the link to that article:

You might also consider seeing a gyn oncologist. I'm not saying that you have cancer ... but the gyn oncologists are very highly skilled surgeons and often get involved in difficult endo cases too. I had a TAH/BSO a year and a half ago (at age 46) primarily due to severe stage 4 endo and my regular gyn was assisted by the gyn oncologist who actually trained him. The gyn oncologist did peritoneal stripping and removed all the deep lesions in my pelvis.
My heart goes out to you.
I know just how nasty this disease is. Please keep asking questions, get second and third opinions from other specialists, and make the decision that is best for YOU. While the thought of a hyst at your age seems tragic to me, not being able to enjoy life is tragic too. Sending gentle hugs your way.
Beth
