Auntie Flo showed up and my TVH is on the 15th....now what?

Hi sisters...I tried to find a thread that talked about it, but I couldn't seem to find one. My darn ole Auntie Flo popped in for her final visit and I'm scheduled for my TVH on Wednesday. Is that a problem for the surgery to go on? I know it isn't for a TAH, but I was wondering if it was for a TVH. Anyone out there know?
If not, I guess I'll have to call my doctor tomorrow and ask them.

Luv & Hugs,

Mich

I asked my doctor about this before my TVH in May for dysplasia. He said it wouldn't make any difference. Of course you'll need to ask your doctor but I hope this keeps you calm before you speak to him/her. Best of luck. Mine went great.

Michypoo- I too had TVH last tuesday. It doesn't make any difference at all. They just will put a maxi pad between your legs while you are waiting. And It isn't embarressing at all- after all , that is why you are there. The nurses are so professional. Try not to worry about it. My thoughts are with you...

Hi Mich-
My dr. also told me it wouldn't be a problem when I went to my pre-op. I was starting again when I had my TVH. Every dr. is different though, so if you're still worried, call your dr.
Good luck and I'll keep you in my prayers!

Blessings-

I'm having the last of my RED DAYS as well, I mentioned it to my Dr. in the pre-op check-up and she laughed, said "I don't care, I'm going to make it bleed worse anyway."
It sure relieved what I thought was going to be a huge problem.
Seems like every other time she saw me bleeding was a big issue.
Be double sure to check with your Dr. ASAP!

Huggz and ers across the miles.

I'm having a TVH tomorrow and at my pre-op I asked if it mattered whether I was on my period or not because I'm due to start anytime now and I was told no. So far it hasn't started yet, so I'm praying it holds off 18 more hours! Good Luck to you on Wednesday!

Thank you for your post. I am having TAH Tuesday, and mine showed up today. no way to contact Dr on weekend , and was worried he would want to put off surgery. It's good to know I not alone with all my feelings and questions.

Good luck, I'm looking forward to getting my life back.

I had my LAVH on Mon. 8-30-04, and I got my period that Fri before. I didnt even call my docs office and tell them. When I got to the hospital Mon. morning, I asked the resident working with my doc when she came by to see me before surgery if being on my period was gonna be a problem, and she said no, that they were fixing to remedy that problem for me, LOL. So I guess that it doesnt matter one way or another. Wouldnt hurt to call and ask though, just to be sure. Best wishes to you on your surgery!!!!
