After that, i felt better but had more pelvic pain. This morning, I can honestly say the gas pain is way worse than anything else. I don't feel any pain around my incisions and my pelvic pain isn't bad at all. Other that that i noticed i have to pee like every hour and obviously tired.

Btw the surgical center I went to was really nice and clean. I was impressed with the facility. Will keep you posted!
Yay! I'm so glad it went well for you! I think I took the ibuprofen / pain killers for maybe a day or two after and then didn't need it any more. And I peed like a racehorse too but it was all night since my surgery was late in the day. It's from all the fluids they put through you in the IV.

I took the pain killer last night and today, just took the 800 mg ibuprofen. I hope to just get by with the Ibuprofen. . I just can't get over how well I am walking. Right now using some ice for pelvic area but again, doing really well considering!

Re: Upcoming surgery 1/6: Anyone have a DualPort minimally invasive hysterectomy?

junebuggy76, did you find out why you needed a third incision? I'm considering using this surgery type, too, and just want to know what came up for you that they decided they needed a third port.

Yep at my follow up. I had a cyst on my ovary he went in and removed just the cyst. Had it biopsied & it was a normal "simple" cyst. Kept my ovary on that side. I tell you it's the best decision I've ever made! I took it easy for a couple weeks and then laid off the heavy lifting until 6 weeks (my self imposed restrictions , the doctor said do what I want listen to my body) ended up with the dissolvable stitches in the vaginal cuff because "it was a clean cut" he said and be been good to go since !

angela1102, tcloud, and junebuggy76 -- now that you are further down the road (of healing or of scheduling , how are you doing? may I ask why you turned to that surgery center?

I have a"25-week"-size uterus with several large fibroids. One of them extends above my belly button. my gynecologist and my 2nd opinion say that I need to have open abdominal surgery. I had accepted that but just yesterday happened to run into the website for the dual port option. I'd love any insights you could pass on/1

Thanks for sharing your experience, junebuggy76. May I ask what brought you to seek hysterectomy in the first place? My apologies if this is too personal.

Re: Upcoming surgery 1/6: Anyone have a DualPort minimally invasive hysterectomy?

Oh no worries. I had a diagnosis from the Dr of adenomyosis. I had a self diagnosis of post ablation tubal ligation syndrome. Pathology report reported no adenomyosis but symptoms were representative of post ligation tubal ligation syndrome. I had two "pockets" in the upper corners of my uterus that were sealed off from the rest of my uterus but contained blood and active "endometrium" . So every month I was technically bleeding but it had no where to go due to the ablation scar tissue that had formed. So I bled back into my Fallopian tubes - and that had no where to go either because my tubes were tied ! Many doctors still won't recognize this as a real "condition" . I had an ultrasound done a few months earlier that showed basically nothing but these pockets that "had the appearance of hemorrhage" & the ultrasound report specifically said "question if this is related to the patients reported history of ablation" but the dr never even considered it:-( glad I had the hysterectomy because essentially that is the only "fix" for my issues since I was bleeding back into the Fallopian tubes this "retrograde" bleeding caused some endometrium to implant into the tubes and start growing there as endometriosis . It's a hard decision to make especially when you don't have a confirmed "problem" .

Go for a consult. They have performed hyaterectomies on many women in your situation - all dual port .

Yes, my upcoming hysterectomy will be dual port as well, after he takes care of prolapsed cervical fibroid. He told me because of sizes and locations that it would be necessary. Just ready to put this many year long nightmare behind me.
