Nervous

I am scheduled to have my surgery on Wednesday, July 13 , just 2 days yet for uterine prolapse. (TVH) I am very nervous. Has anyone ever had this surgery. What was your experience? How was your recovery ?

Re: Nervous

I just had this done on July 7th.I went into the hospital about 11:00 am on the 7th.Spent one night there & was home by midday on the 8th.I have had very little pain & a bit of pressure in my lower stomach. For me the worst part of recovery so far has been some gas pains & a swelly belly.Drink lots of water & try to walk a few mins each hour. That has really helped with the gas pains.I wish you the best with your surgery & recovery.

Re: Nervous

My hardest part of it all is that I have 2 small children. They are 4 & 7.For the most part they have been wonderful but makes it hard to rest at times.Oh Gas-X the first few days was a lifesaver for me.

Re: Nervous

Yes that would be hard with 2 little ones. Thats good they help you. . Dont you have someone else to help you out? I will have to remember that ( Gas-X). Now I have to figure out what to eat for a light meal. Any suggestions?

Re: Nervous

My doctor didn't require any bowel prep or light meals. All I had to do was to stop eating & drinking after midnight.I have my DH but he had to start back to work yesterday. He works from 5 am to 2 pm.So the good thing I don't have to cook dinner or do the housework.
