now I'm really frustrated
Hello,
Well, here I go again!! I went to my gyn for a regular checkup and they found a mass the size of an orange on my left ovary. They kept checking it for 2 months and it kept growing pretty fast. My gyn schedule me for a TAH/BSO Oct. 14. I also have blocked tubes due to scar tissue, a tumor on my uterous, a cyst on my left ovary and have had pre-cancerous cells in my cervix. On the Friday before my surgery, he checked the mass again and it had shrunk a little so he postponed the surgery. I even went for a second opinion during all this time. The first dr. wanted to take both ovaries and the 2nd dr said he might could leave one.
Last ultrasound I had also showed 2 cysts on my right ovary.
I went back to gyn today for checkup. He didn't do another ultrasound. I've had 4 in the past 2 months.
This time he decided to send me to a different doctor in a BIG city so they could do a laproscopic biopsy.
Now why did he wait so long to do this????? I have had a watery discharge for almost 3 years now and this is of alot of concern to me but he didn't seem worried about it at all. This new doc is about 2 hours from me, but my dh will take me.
I just don't know what to think anymore. He said he didn't think it was cancer and this is the only way to know for sure. I can understand that but I am ready to do whatever I need to and get on with my life.
Thanks for listening to me again!!!
Debbie

Hi, Cheryl
Sorry you are having to wait to get things done. It sounds like a good idea to do the laprosopic biopsy to be sure what is going on in there.
I know this is frustrating, hang in there sometimes it takes time to get the needed information and tests in order to do the surgery.

now I'm really frustrated
Hi Twister, I know your pain. Back in June I began my period and three weeks later it was still flowing strong. I had never been to a gyn before (I know, I know, bad me LOL) and my sister got me in as an emergency with her gyn. I was under the care of this man from July until August, he sent me for a sonogram, then an MRI, then scheduled a D&C/biopsy and after all this wanted me to go see a gyn/onc because, as he told my sister, he said I had a 50/50 chance of living. Nice, huh? I finally got really fed up with him and the run around I was getting for so long that I made an apt for a second opinion with a gyn that came highly recommended by friends and co-workers. Four days before my apt I ended up in the ER luckily the doc I was going to see was on call that day, and he became my new gyn. If you're not comfortable with the care you're getting from your current gyn go see someone else. I didn't even feel comfortable going to the doc he wanted me to see, I felt that if I couldn't trust him I couldn't trust the people he recommended. I'm extremely glad with my choice to seek a second opinion.
Best of luck to you! Hope you get some answers soon.
Mary Ellen

now I'm really frustrated
HI,
It sounds like your dr is being very cautious with you. I know that having all those tests and all the waiting for results can be frustrating. But please be patient. A hysterectomy is a major surgery ( no matter which method they use ) and you want to be absolutely certain that this is what you need before you decide on one.
I agree that the laproscopy biospy is a good idea. It should be able to give you the info to help make your decision as informed as possible. I think that it's great that your DH is going with you for it.
Best wishes, please let us know what you learn.
