Re: 2 days before surgery and my last day of work

The world works in mysterious ways. Don't ponder the "why me?" question too much. I've had many "why me?" moments in life and have noticed that every one of those times that have caused me to ask that question have only made me stronger in the long run! You can face this head on and come out a winner on the other side. It's not wrong to cry or be anxious/nervous. It's good to let those emotions out and even better to let others around you that care about you know what you're feeling. They will help you in ways you won't realize. And remember..... it's always darkest before the dawn. The sun will come up brighter than before once this all behind you. Good luck on your big day!

Re: 2 days before surgery and my last day of work

Sweetie, no one knows that. Things happen with our bodies that are out of our control. You have done nothing wrong. This is a very scary and emotional time. What you are feeling is completely normal. I cried a lot too - both pre-op and post-op. The doctors and nurses will take good care of you. And we will be here to support you. You will get through this.

Re: 2 days before surgery and my last day of work

OK, I am tearing up just reading this. I am 6 days until surgery and I feel emotional, anxious and a little sad. I have some feelings of relief and hope as well, hope for the other side. I am sure I will be a wreak pre and post op as well and that is OK. Feel your feelings, talk to people about them and be kind to yourself. I will be looking for you on the other side to see how you did and how you are feeling so please post when you feel up to it. Good luck!

Re: 2 days before surgery and my last day of work

I know exactly how you feel. I went thru the same exact feeling last Wednesday as my surgery was last Thursday. I am now on the other side and feeling good, I stopped my pain meds on Sunday. Try to keep yourself busy today that did help me a little the day before. Remember we are all here for you and we will be thinking of you and praying for a fast recovery for you. Keep us posted and we will see you on the other side.

Re: 2 days before surgery and my last day of work

I can totally relate to how you are feeling. My emotions are definitly taking over and I am 2 weeks from my surgery date. I think the holidays are helping to keep me busy, but the family and work preparation is somewhat overwhelming. Quoting scripture and staying in prayer is getting me through this anxious time, and reminding myself that once this is all said and done I can wear white anytime I will want and not worry any longer!
