Re: Can anyone explain bowel prep to me..
Got mine at Walgreens for $1.99 + tax. Walgreens had the flavored ones. I chose lemon, and to me, it tasted like a sour lemon soda. I think the other flavors were cherry and grape...

Re: Can anyone explain bowel prep to me..
My instructions for my surgery (Tuesday 9/29) say to buy a Phospo-soda bowel prep kit. Everywhere I've gone has told me that those were recalled. Has anybody else had that experience? I'm thinking I should just get the magnesium citrate like the other ladies here and call it a day. I ran myself ragged yesterday looking for the phospo-soda!

ALSO LADIES, I ignored some pretty important advice I read in someone else's post about bowel prep, so please take it from me....get some tucks medicated wipes. or something for that area...boy am I sore...Never knew an area could be so sore from just liquid (sorry, TMI but I feel like we are family )

Ok I went to walmart and got 2 bottles. The clear one was 1.12 and the grape was 1.68. I am going to drink 1\2 a bottle tonight and 1/2 tomorrow and the rest tuesday! I am going to have the cleanest bowels in colorado! Woohoo

Re: Can anyone explain bowel prep to me..
I drank about 5 oz and I can already feel my tummy stirring! Is this supposed to clean you out from end to end of the intestines? I cant imagine the ladies who are given a 64oz bottle to drink! that is a lot!!!

Re: Can anyone explain bowel prep to me..
Thanks Pam! I called and was told to get the magnesium citrate. I just polished off a bottle of the lemon lime (yum yum lick lick) and have to do another one at 6:30. My surgery tomorrow was moved up four hours, so since I'm having a LSH, hopefully I can go home tomorrow.
Thanks for the help everybody.

Re: Can anyone explain bowel prep to me..
Wow...it is about 5am and I woke with horrible cramps. Worse then labor pains (I think lol) I have my period giving me one last dose of love and then that mag cit I drank last night finally worked. Bf woke cuz I was in the bathroom moaning and groaning..loudly I guess. But at least it worked before I have to go to work today. I'm planning a liquid diet today so I think I will skip the dose tonight. Esp since I have period cramps way bad too. Ugh. Hope I can get a few more hours sleep now.

Re: Can anyone explain bowel prep to me..
I'm sorry you had a rough time this morning- menstrual cramps and bowel prep cramps- yikes, girl, *you get the prize!*.
I think you're going to be pretty well cleaned out after today' clear liquid diet with the mag citrate yesterday. I believe, though it wasn't the most pleasant experience, the bowel prep made it easier for my digestive system to recover from the surgery. I still had gas for a few weeks but it has subsided a lot.
Good luck to you and all the other sisters going to the castle tomorrow. You are all going to do great and we'll be here for you when you get back...
