TVH: bowel prep today

I'm with MrsL and have the 14 doses of miralax with gatorade beginning the day before surgery. And clear liquids only that entire day before.

Lots of different preps here!

Not all doctors order any bowel prep. Mine didn't.

Once I got to the hospital, I was given two enemas, along with a betadyne douche. (First douche ever... and I think also my last ever. )

Make sure you do exactly as your doctor orders, nothing more or less. If given a choice, I think I'd opt for an enema, because everything is, ahem, "over" pretty quickly with an enema rather than waiting for a laxative to work. Just my worth.

My surgery was last week. I did the magnesium citrate and enema combo - 2x. 4 pm and 8 pm... I bought the grape flavored MC - and it was not bad the first time - warm. It was worse when it was cold...

I am manied and pettied and the pipes are clean! DH is being a sweety and getting something to eat on the way home from work so I don't have to smell real food tonight. I swear, I fed the cats and wanted to sample their salmon and tuna fancy feast.
