Hi,

Just received the new from the doctor today that I do have uterine cancer in the early stage.

I am to see a gynecological oncologist and have no idea what to expect from this.

My doctor told me he will probably do just as she described, a hysterectomy but will probably take some lymph nodes to check them.

Any info you can give as to what to expect I would love to hear.

thanks so much

I am so sorry to hear of your diagnosis. However, it seems they caught it early. I will remember you in my prayers.

Hi there! I had different cancer, but I can understand what you are feeling right now. I had a LAVH with 12 lymph nodes removed. They caught the cancer early so there was no sign of it anywhere else. I am 6 weeks post-op and starting to feel semi-normal again.

My suggestions for you are to bring someone with you to your gyn/onc visit. There will be a lot of information thrown at you and having another set of ears really helps. If you post on the cancer concerns board there are many women going through the same thing. They are a wonderful source of information and support.

You are on the right path. Seeing a gyn/onc is the best thing you can do when cancer is suspected. I will keep you in my thoughts and sending your way!

(((Blondetoast)))

I'm sorry to hear you've been diagnosed with uterine cancer. Your gyn has done a good thing by referring you to a gyn/onc. They are the experts when it comes to female cancers and they are extensively trained in the most current surgical and treatment techniques for gyn cancers.

You might like to check out our Cancer Concerns forum. Many of our members who have gyn cancer post there and I'm sure they would be happy to share their personal experiences with you.

I hope your appointment goes well and that your surgery is successful. I hope we see you over in Cancer Concerns!
