Thinking far ahead

I am way ahead of myself since I am not headed to the Castle for a while, but was curious. I will have a couple of BC pill backs left which I will not be able to use after surgery. Is there an organization that I can donate them to? I would like to help people who may need them but not be able to afford them.

Also, what did you Post-Op gals do with any left-over pads? I don't know how many I will still need after surgery, but I will probably have some of those left over as well.

I'm not really sure if you can donate unused medicines, but it never hurts to ask your doctor or pharmacist. It does seem like a waste to disgard unused meds, but laws may prohibit donating them.

As for any unused pads, it's a good idea to keep a few on hand for your recovery incase you have any bleeding or discharge. If you find you have some left over, you can donate them to your locals women's shelter. They are always in need of feminine supplies and would be greatly appreciated. You can also pass them on to friends and family.

give them to your family doc..... if they are unopened, he can give them to someone who he knows would be in need (just like samples)

You can also send a Care Package to women serving overseas in the armed forces. They are always looking for personal hygiene items. Contact your post office for details on shipping.

Thanks for all of the replies.

LadyBoiler - I like the idea of a care package overseas.

Crossfire - I like the idea of the local women's shelter, too. I know it is a problem trying to donate unused medicines, but it seems like a waste if I would just throw them away.

CindyGrinz - I will probably ask my doctor when I see him at my Pre-Op a few weeks from now.

Thanks Ladies!
