To you ladies waiting...a postive post

I am four weeks post op from a SAH, left my cervix and ovaries.

I had fibroids and polyps and the heavy bleeding and cramping that went with them.

I know you are all feeling a bit nervous, to very nervous. I was too. They say the waiting is the worst part, and it is so true.

My surgery went fine, with no complications. I came home as scheduled, and percosets and lortabs and ibuprofen handled the pain very well. It was a challenge to get up and down, and it took some time to sleep in my bed on my side, but each day, I could see improvements. I was careful, walked, but did not do much else but read. I even avoided the stairs for a week.

I haven't had any problems, and while I heal slowly, its been ok.

It will be ok for most of you too!

I just saw another post from a sister who did well, and thought I would post too. Perhaps if you all see several positives, you will see that you don't have to be nervous or afraid!

Pre-op, I thought post-op posts were scary. It sounded like after surgery I was going to be down for the count for months.

Now, the pre-op posts scare me. I remember how you feel. I remember the feeling of the unknown.

Believe me girls, in most cases, the surgery and recovery is not nearly as bad as you think it will be. I'm not saying it's a bed of roses, but the one thing I can attest to is that the waiting is the hardest part.

Good ladies all you ladies in waiting. We will be here for you on the "other side".

Hi LIW
I'm also 2 months and looking back the time has gone so fast, yes the waiting is the hard part but I found trying to keep a positive outlook helped and a strong faith that God had brought me to this so he would bring me through.
My recovery has been problem free I know I've been lucky but my advice would be to follow your Dr's instructions and give yourselves time to heal properly ,a new life is just waiting for you
Prays for problem free surgeries for all of you
