Vaginal drainage 2 weeks after hysterectomy

Hello my hyster sisters,
Has anyone have vaginal dranage 7 days after robotic hysterectomy?
I had cervix, uterus and fallopian tubes removed may 27, no bleeding first 6 days, however on 7 days started seeing vaginal drainage of pinkish color like a period.l but lighter.

Still having vaginal drainage/discharge today, which is day 15. Pelvic pain is getting better

If anyone does have this vaginal drainage, how long did it take to go away?

Re: Vaginal drainage 2 weeks after hysterectomy

When you say vaginal discharge, do you mean spotting/bleeding or white substance?

If you refer to to blood, it is perfectly normal to experience spotting/light bleeding on/off for several weeks.

Your discharge papers should contain a section about bleeding, usually filling a pad/hour needs a trip to the ER

What you are describing sounds like the healing process.

I had an issue with a light colored fluid coming out of my vagina about 1 week after surgery. I had 20 lymph nodes removed for testing along with a complete robotic assisted laparoscopic hysterectomy. I was worried but the doctor told me it was lymphatic fluid caused by the lymph nodes being disturbed. It lasted about a week and the fluid discharge was significant for about 6 days. I needed to buy Poise pads for urinary incontenince for that week.
Please call the doctor to make sure it isn’t a problem.

I started spotting 2 weeks after my surgery. It’s pretty scary when it suddenly starts happening. I called the nurse and she said it’s ok. My pain is worse today than it was before I started spotting. I’m trying to rest up but I’m so scared that I regressed.

Vaginal Discharge

Just an aside - you may notice as you increase your activities, pain and/ or spotting may increase. This is usually a sign that you need to slow down.

Signs to watch out for:
Gushing bright red blood
A foul odor
Itching
Fever
Filling a pad every hour - As GPMS stated above, this is definitely a sign to call the doctor asap!
Experiencing severe aches and pains

When in doubt, always call your doctor if you are worried. You need to concentrate on healing, and stress doesn’t help. I know this firsthand.

Yes I meant to say, vaginal bleeding that is pinkish color, mild odor,. Pain is getting less, so must be the healing process.
My doctor did a vaginal culture pending results..
Praying all is well.

Re: Vaginal drainage 2 weeks after hysterectomy

I had a fairly clear discharge for 2-3 weeks requiring a pad. Some women have pink discharge, spotting and even a bit of bleeding. It's pretty typical, even if you had none earlier, as healing happens in stages with cellular matrix going through changes. It's usually gone by weeks 6-8.

Hopefully your results will be negative for anything out of the ordinary.

Vaginal drainage 2 weeks after hysterectomy

So scary, this morning, the vaginal discharge is heavier , pinkish color, with little yellow pus, mild odor.
Today is 17 days after surgery.

My vaginal swab test already 5 days , still pending.

I crossed my legs when I sit,. Doctors didn't tell me not to do that.

Re: Vaginal drainage 2 weeks after hysterectomy

I've never heard or read that you shouldn't cross your legs after a hysterectomy. I don't think it's one of the No Nos in any of our articles.

The pus isn't typical. Can you call your doctor's after hours number?
