Phil,
I did agree with u also about HRT. But your situation is not getting better and u r so young to be hurting like that. Although, I still get an occasional crampy here and there, it is no constant. Mainly, my tummy gets upset. Your dr. couldn't leave in an ovary like I have so u would still get most of ur hormones?
Hey Jenn, my right ovary was completely collapsed onto my colon by the time I got to surgery due to the severe endometriosis. the left one had endo as well and the problem with endometriosis is that it is fed by estrogen. Leaving the one ovary would not have taken care of my problem with endometriosis. So basically it all had to come out. I cant begin to tell you how much I am struggling with this joint and muscle pain throughout my entire body now, even in my hands. Its terrible

Faith,
I agree. All of my drs. haven't seen endo, but adhesions which I think may be worst. They say adhesions come from so many different things. They could've come from my c-section to begin with or another procedure I had. I'll tell u about it later. Or adhesions can come from endo. I don't know, but my belly is getting bigger instead of smaller. Maybe it is hormonal. Pretty much that is my only complaint, my clothes hurt. Maybe, I am getting scar tissue on the remaining ovary. Maybe, I need to exercise again, maybe it is a hernia. Who knows. I also started the fluid pill yesterday and will share an update next wk.

Phil,
I really hoping they will find some answers for u soon and try the otc menopause stuff and c what happens. Knittin and another young lady were younger than us and maybe u can contact them for advice.

Hello and Hugs!!!

So cool to see some of you still posting here...sorry to hear some are still having issues since having your hyster

I'm hanging in there...feel normal I guess...what is normal anyway

I'd love to hear more about the bananas...I eat them alot just cause I love them and they feel healthy and are easy to grab and take to work

As far as weight gain...I don't know...I went seriously underweight for the couple months before getting back to normal life/work etc...seems lately I've been slowly gaining...don't know if it the estrogen pills, vitamins, or what but I feel as if my pants are getting tighter just in the waist, everything else feels the same...one thing I must add though is I quit smoking and do eat alot more throught the day and night out of comfort GRRRRRR! Once I totally get the smoking craving under control I'm goin back to healthy and less eating...

Other than that I am feeling A-OK! I just figure the estrogen I was originally put on is working fine cause I don't really feel bad in anyway...I am sooooo glad I had it done...I am now round-the-month a nice person all the time LOL!

Everyday I take my estrogen pill, multi-vitiamin, caltrate, and viactiv chews (love them dang things, find myself eating them like candy) actually what I've found I like better is from Wally world, off brand, sugar free, choco flavor calcium chews OMG they are soooooo good!

Well take care all...........ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS...to go back to July and be the princess again and have all summer off with my kids...I'd do it again in a hearbeat

Wink - Hysterectomy dates Jul 09-Jul 16,2007 What hysterectomy?

Hello ladies!

I have been at home sick with the flu and was lying here with my laptop when I thought of checking in with Hystersisters. It's nice to see some names I recognize!
I started a brand new preschool classroom with two classes and 42 brand new chilren in August, so when 6 weeks came I was out the door for good. I have lots of days when I don't even think about my surgery except that the scar is itchy and annoying sometimes.
Sex is great and emotionally I feel very good. I do have a herniated disc in my neck which means I have a lot of pain and discomfort from that so I have been focusing most of my attention on that issue. Being with little children, I have also been suffering a cold or cough pretty much since the first day of class. I think this is in part due to my hyst surgery and that my body is still trying to repair while fighting off germs at the same time. I am looking forward to the holiday break for some R & R.
I guess I didn't realize how much discomfort my fibroids were causing me because I have almost no pain from down there at all. Not having periods is the gravy - thank goodness all of that is gone!
I have been reading that some of you are having pain in various places. I just assume that all of my pain is associated with my neck so I can't be sure if any of it is coming from my surgery site.
Best wishes to all of you. I'll have to check in more often.
Heather

Hello All,

I was surprised to see more activity on this thread but that's awesome! I hope everyone is well.

I am doing great and I tell everyone that "I'm a new woman!" I still have some pain in the surgery area from time to time but I am not bothered by it. The benefits are so great that minor annoyances are nothing!

Now if I could just lose weight....

Hi FreakyDeaky!! Long time no hear, happy to hear youre doing well!! I am finally seening the light myself after some other issues, like my twisted knee for over 2 months what a pain that was! Now if I could only fully void, not sure what is going to happen with my bladder, I hope it will all adjust on its own.. again nice to see you again !!

Familiar names

Wow it's nice to hear how everyone is doing. 4 months and 3 weeks. How time does fly. I would love to hear who's on hormone replacement. Interesting to hear how some are saying sex is great. Mine still non-existent. I am still mourning the person I once was. I am a work in progress.

I set up the Christmas tree and decorations! We have two trees. I put one down in the family room and one in the great room. It takes all day to do. First I clean from top to bottom then I set up. I have my energy back but it's the achy bones and muscles after having a long day of labor that's hard to understand. I am just chalking it up to not being completely healed after surgery. My scar area still itches and I have some tugging pain when I am lifting and pulling too much weight. My bladder is feeling much better. Still taking Lunesta to sleep. Something that I should be doing now. Goodnight, talk soon.
