Dearest Hyster Sisters,

sometimes when we write or reply to someone the written word is taken in their perspective of the day.
and it does not matter how many happy faces and jumping buddies that we have added or not added .

I replied to a post where someone has been having issues for a while and seeking advice. I recieved a nasty note about how I only talked and did not listen.

I know that I have a rose colored view of the world and not really afraid to share it. It may or may not help the person asking for help -- you can take what I offer with a grain of salt and see if it applies to you act upon it or ignore it.
Maybe my reply does not effect you but could someone else reading the post.

If you are looking for answers-- this is a great spot for support from other people that have been through it -- but you still have to be the one that takes action to resolve that problem. If you are waiting 2 months for someone to wave their magic wand and make life better for you without doing anything about it yourself. Then do not whine when nothing in your life is changing.

My apologies if I offend anyone.

Best wishes to everyone on this site that you find that answers that you are looking for.

That's the main thing I hate about sites where we leave our opinions: we never know when someone is going to snipe at us, on the board or privately. I hope whoever sent you that nasty note can appreciate the fact that you took time to respond to her post when you didn't have to. Even if someone doesn't agree with our opinion we invested time in responding. If she doesn't care for our words she should at least be grateful for the fact that we offered them.

One more thing comes to mind: what if the "offending" post actually gives someone else the strength to go on? Wouldn't it be a shame if it was never given?

Perhaps the person didn't mean her note to be nasty. The written word is not always taken as it is meant. Unfortunately, without seeing the person who is 'speaking', we are deprived of facial expressions, or the gentle touch on the arm that most often comes with conversation.

I have, in a sense, had the same thing happen to me. It's sad when we are only trying to reach out to support someone, and we get slapped in the face for our efforts. Luckily, most of the people here are appreciative, and in turn, try to reach out to others.

God's peace, my sisters.
