Your welcome. I saw the list on the board and thought you all would find it helpful like I did. It was posted by one of the hostesses on the board a few weeks ago. They are supposed to be foods that are easy to digest after surgery. I just thought of another one instant oatmeal the kind in packets would be really convenient and good for the digestive system if things are moving slow after.

I also have a huge container of prunes and some prune juice for the constipation that seems to be common after. When I had my back surgery that worked the best for me.

(((((((GoldEElocks))))))) good luck tomorrow. I bet you'll be so glad when you are on the other side. I'm sure everything will go just fine. What type of surgery are you having?

Thanks so much mchell. I'm having TAH. Yes, I'll definitely be glad to be on the other side...this time tomorrow, I should be there. I know I"ll be in pain, but it'll be much better than the pain I'm in now

...looks like we have more than one thing in common...I lad a discectomy in 2005 at L5-S1 too. My back feels better than it has EVER felt now :-). Good luck to you on the 27th

Good luck GoldEElocks. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Thanks so much for your replies Annette & Annessa. I really appreciate your thoughts. Its so true that you can feel so alone except for the others that post on this site and really understand what its like. Still feeling a bit overwhelmed this morning. Have my pre-op appt this morning and then full on at work. Just hoping to get through the next few days without too many tears.

Hey ladies:

I just wanted to wish all of you counting down to the big day the best of luck. You're all going to be fine. I remember the excitement, anxiety, fear beforehand. Everything went textbook, and now I'm 16 days post-op. One thing I was noticing the day before surgery was that I was up and around doing my life and just 24 hours later I would be down and recovering for awhile. It was kind of a weird feeling, almost like flipping a switch.

The sugery and hospital experience were so positive for me that I would do them again in a heartbeat. In fact, I kind of miss the hospital. Not many times in your life where you are waited on hand and foot. Having a private room and bath was nice too.

Hugs everyone,

I had been out of town for basically a month because my dad had been ill, so my house was trashed. It was SO nice to come home to that.

Check the above comment, I'm not lucky. I am truly blessed.
Sorry about your Dad... and don't get me wrong, I have great friends, they just aren't so great at cleaning...

9 days to go. Thanks Karen your positive experience was good to hear after a yuk day. Went to my pre-op appt this morning. Discovered I am not down for a da vinci after all. Have been put on the other list for LSH. How crazy. I have the only guy in Australia trained to do da vinci but I am not having it! Today I discovered I could change the surgery list I'm on and have da vinci from him but if I do I will have to wait another 1-2 months for it which would mean definitely cancelling my trip. If I cancel the trip my husband will still be obliged to take his vacation from work and I wont be able to go until some time in 09 when he has accrued enough time again. The timing in my life sucks so much at the moment!

To my March 27th sisters

To all my March 27th sisters - only ten more days to go!!! Actually at this minute 10 days from now they will be getting ready to wheel me into the OR (My surgery is at 7:30 AM - it's 7:22 right now!!!)

One of my friends that is doing the LLS with me at Church is a ob/gyn nurse at the local hospital. I was talking to her yesterday about everything going on. Her advice to me was, I will be in quite a bit of pain right after the surgery so make sure the nurses know. If I feel at all nauseous, make sure the nurses know. And make sure to come back slowly. We only get one chance to heal from this correctly. This was all stuff I knew from reading posts here, but I thought I'd share with you.

Have a great day out there!!! It's gonna be another cold one here. COME ON SPRING!!!
