Re: What is your favorite book?

I got some good, light, fun reads, nothing too deep or involved. I read all sorts, from non-fiction to fiction. But here's a recommendation from someone who doesn't really like the usual fare.
Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman's Good Omens, you read it and you will laugh (gently, so as not to hurt yourself).
or my all time favorite: The Life of Pi
I plan to re-read Good Omens for the third time, these coming weeks!!

Oh! That one is one of my favorite all time books! I loved it. I enjoyed it and cried at the end, as much for the story as for my running out of book to read!

Re: What is your favorite book?

Brynnlane- Thanks for starting this thread. Now I am going to read The Red Tent for the 3rd or 4th time. Funny how books affect you at different phases of our lives. I'm curious what my perspective will be now. It is about women from the bible but it is not a religious book. Meeps, I did cry too when I finished it for both reasons you stated. I just could not put it down. Also, the Twilight series is a definate must read. It is certainly not just for teenagers....I'm 42

I'm 44 but I'm a total Twilight fan. I've read all of the Stephanie Meyer Twilight series several times. They are very easy reading. They are clean romance books without smut.

Twilight series definitley! They were recommended to me and I was not really into the vampire thing( so I thought). I agree with the clean romance without the smut! Which is why I dont understand why they are trying to ban them from my daughters school.

I would save the janet books for later in recovery though LOL I LOVE STEPHANIE PLUM ! I started giggling just thinking about them. I have read all 15,not sure if there is a 16th yet. I started reading this seris years ago and couldnt put them down. I would lay on the couch and read as my family watched TV,i would bust out laughing at some of the situations till i was just about in tears!Needless to say my family thought i was a lil nutty LOL OH i cant imagine laughing like that right now and i am 6 days post op hehehe
But I do definatly recommend this to anyone !

Re: What is your favorite book?

I recommend Nelson DeMille - Plum Island, The Lion's Game, Night Fall, Up Country, are my favorites. Also, Douglas Preston/Lincoln Childs are good, if you like action/adventure/mysteries.
