Depressed!!!!
I keep reading all of these posts on Nesting and how all of the sisters are cleaning and preparing meals! I have not gotten into that yet! I'm feeling really depressed and actually feeling sorry for myself! I've never felt sorry for myself in my whole entire life, why now??? I have absolutely no energy to do anything and its all I can do to get my children up and ready for school, go to work and come home to get dinner done! Then off to the couch I go! I feel like a lazy bum, which is something I've never been!
When does the nesting begin! My pre-op is Friday and my surgery is a week from tomorrow. I'm running out of time and I have a lot of work to do and all I'm doing is sitting around and thinking about what I have to do and nothing is getting done!!!!
Did any of my soul sisters get depressed like this before the surgery or is it just all of the worry?

Depressed!!!!
I feel exactly the same way and my surgery isn't even scheduled yet! I've always been energetic and really on top of things. I'm an RN and basically "super nurse" at work. I've always kept a clean house and been able to take care of my family. My 3 girls keep me busy with dance, cheerleading, church, etc. People seem to depend on me to handle just about everything and keep things together. Now, I barely can make it through a work day. I stop for take out because I'm too tired to cook. All at do at home is take a bath and go to bed (and then I can't sleep!) The laundry is piled up and the house is a wreck. I'm really depressed and nobody seems to "get it." My butt is dragging! Hope we both feel better fast!

Depressed!!!!
I was an emotional wreck while waiting for my hyst. I think that stress and emotions can effect us all differently. When I worry, staying busy is what helps me. My DD is the opposite, she gets lost in a book so that she can forget her troubles
My advice is to do what helps you most. Don't fret about what you don't feel up to doing. Dust bunnies never hurt anyone & take-out takes care of hunger
in there!!

Depressed!!!!
Oh honey don't worry about the not nesting, I deep cleaned on Sunday and my surgery was on Monday. I did do my shopping in advance. If you don't think you can muster up the energy for it, hire a one time cleaner. Don't measure your life or progress by other people, we are all different. Some people cooked and froze food in preparation for their surgery. I am a gourmet cook and didn't make one meal in advance, it just held no appeal. My son cooked for me when I got home on Wednesday and by Saturday I took the cooking back over. Bless his heart, he tried but his cooking is a little bland. Now I cook and he cleans and he likes that deal because he loves Momma's cooking. If I look at these posts I would be thinking why didn't I cook ahead, but I do not measure myself by other people. Or at least I try not to.
Just prepare the best you can and bring your big girl panties to the hospital with you and it will all work out.

Depressed!!!!
OK I can SOOOO relate, I am so not into nesting. I have a list but at this point I really don't care what gets done other than moving my computer downstairs so i can go online!!!!!
I had a HUGE depression episode, so bad I called Drs and am now going to therapy once a week till it is time and taking meds, I do feel better. As someone posted I thinkit is just the emotions of knowing what is coming, I was completly overwhelmed and reacting poorly to the smallest things, my DH and friends were actually getting worried!!!
I wouldn't worry to much about what doesn't get done... it will all take care of itself one way or the other!!!!

I didn't nest either. I was much like you. I sat on the computer most of the time. AFter all, it is just a house. I had a few meals pepared, but the house was far from spotless. Everyone reacts differently to this kind of thing. Just hang in there a bit longer. I know you are probably tired of hearing it, but waiting is the absolute worst part. I feel great 2 weeks out and have my energy back. HUGS!

Depressed!!!!
Don't worry about not nesting, not everyone gets those feelings...or has the energy to do so. Sometimes the lack of energy is the stress of the upcomming surgery, sometimes (as in my case) it is due to the fact we are aren't feeling well enough to get everything done.
Make a list of what you want to finish and then prioritize it. If it is something you need to help you recover, make sure you get to it, otherwise it isn't a big deal if you can't get to it.
Also consider options that aren't what you usually do, keeping in mind that you are looking for temporary solutions. Here's an example of what I mean... I only use frozen dinners as an option for something to bring to work for lunch, and then only on rare occassions. Pre-op, i decided trying to make my own freezer meals wasn't worth my time and effort so I stocked up on frozen dinners to eat during my recovery.
Best wishes and s

Depressed!!!!
2 weeks prior to my surgery I became crazy. I had feelings of dying and all kind of crazy things. The more I read the more I see its normal. I finally got so outdone with myself I had to stop and look in the mirror. I didn't know that person. I had forgot one important factor! My faith. I stood right there and prayed. Dear God take control! I know I'm safe with you. Put this fear out of my mind and let me focus on you. Afterwards I felt a sign of relief and started putting things in perspective. I pray for you that you will also feel comfort. You are going through a major surgery and its okay to be depressed. But you are stronger than you think. Your needed by many and you will be fine. My surgery is tomorrow. See you in post op.
