Re: Best Wishes to our June 17 Princesses

I have pre-op this morning, my fingers are crossed that I will not have to to the bowel prep. After all the stress and anxiety I have become calm. Thanks ladies for all your help.

Re: Best Wishes to our June 17 Princesses

Hello : thank you for your support and well wishes!

i've started the prep. the magnesium wasn't so bad to drink. someone said to put it in the fridge and that was great advice - went down much easier. also, i got the cherry flavor which made it better as well.

i'm so anxious i could use a Valium the size of a hockey puck! lol

best wishes to everyone else 2mar! i'll be thinking of everyone! be well and take care! : )

Re: Best Wishes to our June 17 Princesses

(my first post- I've been reading other posts for weeks) Surgery date- tomorrow Partial abdominal hysterectomy hopefully leaving ovaries and cervix- depending upon their condition....

I have had a lot of surgeries before; this one is the "kicker"....I thought I was strong; how wrong I was! This week has been one looong week. I have literally NEVER been as scared as I have been for this surgery.

One big concern is about blood clots; one of my previous surgeries was a knee scope that resulted in DVT in my knee after. My source of strength is that they are aware of the complication, and have things ordered for me (stockings & boots to massage my calves) to help prevent problems. It doesn't make me feel "completely" better, but it does help.

My biggest fear now is that I simply don't feel very good. I've had a horrible headache all day and Tylenol doesn't do much for me, it never has. I'm grouchy, touchy, and downright "hormonal"! I really wonder if I've finally lost it...with claustrophobia, labryinthitis-sp?- which is an inner-ear balance disorder, vertigo, thyroid issues, a sore back that makes it hard for me to lay flat even if I can get beyond the balance issues, a tendency for horrible anxiety attacks, and blood pressure that is high with extreme low tolerance for medication...I've been working on losing my mind for a while!

I am terrified of dying and leaving behind so many things that I still have to do with my life. I need a friend!!! -???

With my history of surgery it has been difficult to find anyone to talk to about it. My manager at work said "well with all your surgeries this must seem like just another day at the office". Can you imagine????!!!! Um....nope.

I'm rather lonely and frightened; and feel as though the last thing anyone would do is to help me; how many of my family/friends feel as though I shouldn't be frightened because of surgeries on my extremeties?? Any words of wisdom???

Thanks! J (BusterSerabi)

This is my first post, I hope I'm doing it right, but I'm right there with you. I wish it was over. Need to do the enema thing...dreading it dearly.

Re: Best Wishes to our June 17 Princesses

I guess I'm "lucky", as that is one thing I don't have to do. I've done it a couple of times plus oral lovelies before getting "scoped" for procedures, but for this all I have to do tonight is scrub with the most revolting soap I've ever encountered. Smells like *hospital*!
