Insurance problem - hysterectomy surgery denied

Has anyone had problems getting their health insurance to cover my total hysterectomy surgery. We had a surgery date and an approved prior op appoval. Now the heath insurance had denied the surgery. I have endometriosis and have had abdominal pain for 6 years.

Insurance problem - hysterectomy surgery denied

Oh no! I am honestly surprised mine went through insurance because of my age. My doctor compiled notes of all of my surgeries, all of the birth controls and hormone treatments that I've tried and failed with, an abnormal pap smear, and family history to push it through. Is there time to resubmit with more info?

Hi mariej0001 to HyserSisters!

I am so glad you found us, but I am sorry your surgery was denied.

Talk to your doctor. Normally, they will take the lead in trying to get your surgery approved. Sometimes the insurance needs more information, or sometimes wants other tests done. It may take some back and forth.
