Red2Envy's Laparoscopic Hysterectomy Story

Laparoscopic Hysterectomy
Age at Surgery 50
Location: Seattle

I was falling asleep driving. My nutritionist discovered I was seriously anemic. My primary referred me to an OBGYN who decided it must be my period and scheduled an ablation that failed and brought horrible back pain. Without any second opinion I allowed the doctor to schedule me for the hysterectomy and I had it done.

I stayed overnight and the doctor never visited before I went home because of car trouble. Sad thing about that is I was told the hour surgery took seven but I don’t know the specifics because the doctor never visited, which is why I also don’t know if I have ovaries or not.

My OB met with me to tell me she was leaving the practice. I feel abandoned. I have been confused and trying to figure out what emotions are permanent. Anger and fatigue seem to be constant companions.

I feel overwhelmed and abandoned. I’m glad to not have a period but at what expense?

My first and only advice is to get a secondopibion and ask questions
