hospital stay

Hi I am scheduled for a LAVH (keeping ovaries) I just got paper work from my insurance that said that I was approved for a 2 day hospital stay. How many nights is that one or two? I think it means one night and my Mom thinks it means two. Thanks for responses. Also to other people that have had LAVH--how long were you in the hospital?

I was only in one night and stayed about 25 hrs. after I got out of surgery. My dh took me home and I got back in my bed and mostly stayed there the next few days.

I want to take this opportunity to say that the LAVH was the best thing I could have done for myself! After putting it off for years, all my problems are gone!

Adeno, fibroids, previously endo, enlarged uterus...heavy bleeding and pain--doing great now!

My pre approval said 2 days, which was the day (and night) of surgery, and the next day (and night). My surgery was on Tuesday, I went home late Thursday afternoon. I had a TAH, not a LAVH.

I checked with the hospital when I got my sheet and was glad I did! I had been to another hospital in town for heart surgery 6 wks before and 2 days meant 1 night there. At the other hospital for my TAH, it meant 2 days, 2 nights. Whew! I guess it depends which hospital it is and how they bill. Good luck! Amy
