Re: July B.E.S.T. Chatter Thread
Hi Best friends~
**WARNING** vent/whine post-- skip if you choose!
I am behaving very counter productive! I am a big time emotional eater. I am suffering with a lot of stress and anxiety in my life right now and unfortunatly it makes me want to eat everything in sight! I know that eating well and exercising are things that can help ease anxieties and stress but it just seems easier to eat!
I am already over half way through my points plus allowance for today and I've only had breakfast! YIKES!!!
**Whining/Venting over**
I pledge to make better choices for myself for the rest of the day today!
Take Care, Dawn

(((Dawn)))
Weekends are always hard for me. While I am not overweight, when I overdo on the eats I swell like crazy. I am also allergic to many different food choices. I just can't get myself back on track. As soon as I start feeling a little better, I slip and back I go to swelling and pain. While my issues are a bit different, the situations are very similiar.
in there. We can get thru this.

Re: July B.E.S.T. Chatter Thread
Wow...were the pancakes drowning in syrup ever a BAD choice this morning. First off it made me feel sick to my stomach. Secondly it put my sugar way up and THEN I had a big drop too. It was so NOT worth it!!
I did well for my other meals today though...I do NOT want to do that again!
This is around the time of night (7pm'ish) that I get my binging urges! If that happens tonight I am just going to go to bed and call it a night!
Kim~ Boy, I sure do know what you mean about giving into the desire for things you know are gonna make you sick. I do that all too often. I have type 2 diabetes, IBS and dairy issues. So lots of things are no-no's for me. But sometimes I fool myself into thinking it will somehow be ok to have those no-no things anyway.....it never is though!
Hope you all had/have a great OP Sunday!
Take Care, Dawn

Re: July B.E.S.T. Chatter Thread
Kim and Dawn, those things are kind of what PJ and Valorie have been talking about, aren't they? Things that make us feel bad, but we continue to crave them? Sigh. Can you sort of "experience" the bad feeling before eating it, maybe you can avoid the whole issue? Easier said than done, but I did do it the other day with the s at the party. I'll be proud of that for the rest of my life even if I never manage to do it again.
Going to bed when the cravings hit is a good idea. I think I might try it tonight There are so many things that need to be eaten that seemed like a good idea at the time, or that I rescued from my mother's house. I must remember the piggies on the farm who will be happy to eat any leftovers. *pig*
Happy 4th!

Re: July B.E.S.T. Chatter Thread
Dawn and Kim, I totally understand since I am also a stress eater. I lose and then I gain it back and then get mad at myself for gaining it back. As in previous comments the past year has been filled with mostly stress and lots of it but if we fall down, we should not beat ourselves up over it we should just start again and do our best. We did not gain the weight overnight and we won't lose it overnight.
Thanks Desk. We are so proud of him especially since he did his eagle project while he was still not feeling well and did not feel 100% yet even when he went back to school but he was determined to do both and he did it.
Happy 4th of July tomorrow!! I hope everyone has a great and safe day!! Hugs to all.
Dawn I don't show up as often so this is probably very late but welcome to the gang. I know to you I probably look like the new one because I don't pop up too often. I am also diabetic and as I am sure others have said vent away also if you ever need to talk about diabetes issues feel free to pm me.
Val - glad you are enjoying the boys being home. Joe is going to a local 4 year college but I am not looking forward to the day he moves out which I hope is later rather than sooner. Have a great time with your guys!

Re: July B.E.S.T. Chatter Thread
Happy Independance Day Best Friends!
I am thankful to have another chance at making today an OP day! I am hoping that today is the day that the right attitude I need will 'click in' and help me be sucessful! I know it's in me to do it, just struggling bringing it out!
I think I will sit down and re-view my list of reasons that I want to lose weight. I am sure I can add some other things to it since I originally composed it. Hopefully that will help re-motivate me some!
Thanks so much to each of you for being here!
Take Care, Dawn

Re: July B.E.S.T. Chatter Thread
Desk,
Yes, my issues are very similiar to Val's and PJ's. Lucky for me I've never been big on sweets, those things I can avoid easily. Things like ice cream, donuts, cookies, cake, etc have never been one of my temptations. Pizza and french fries are my downfall. I do try and get thin crust, if I could stop at one piece I think I would be okay. But I always grab the second one, than the leftovers in the fridge get me in the middle of the night. Love, love, love cold pizza!
Happy 4th! Hope everyone has a wonderful day. I will be watching the fireworks on TV while dh makes the trek downtown. Not me though. Hate crowds and it is soooo darn hot here. We are in a major drought, many fireworks in the area have been cancelled, but downtown Houston is still going on as planned.

Re: July B.E.S.T. Chatter Thread
We are running out to have lunch with the family at the retirement center. Have had a productive morning, walked fast, trotted some, racewalked down the hills, kept my heart rate up pretty much. I am going to have to do some serious toning and exercise shake-ups to deal with the abs and the back. Then I mowed, then I made chocolate for dessert, so tonight's dinner will be spare.
Kim you are so lucky not to have the sweets temptation, but boy do I know about the pizza and salty snacks. I am grateful for these new pizza places that make the small pizzas with super thin crusts and don't put much cheese on, and have other toppings for flavor. We don't go there much, but I like to know it's an option now and then.
I'll check back later, gotta get over to the family.
Happy Happy Independence Day to all!
Desk

Re: July B.E.S.T. Chatter Thread
Hi Everyone
Had a busy last couple of days, had a Patriotic service at church on Sunday and honored all the different Military branches, it was very nice. Then off the Sis's for a picnic and fire works, yesterday we had a small picnic with Ddad-in-law and kids, then went to youngest DSs inlaws for a picnic and fireworks, was very nice.
We got Baby/Sewing room painted and cleaned and baby stuff moved in, now to get my sewing machines in place. LOL
Desk, you are such an inspiration to me! Thank You! I am doing so much better on my eating. I haven't gotten back to MFP but plan to soon. Just making better choices, watching portion sizes and not having seconds.
Kim, we have two pizza shops in our area that sell by the piece, so when we go we only get what we are going to eat. I love cold pizza for breakfast! So it is best if I avoid that.
Nanette, Congratulations to your son on his graduation and Eagle Scout!!! & I too am a stress eater, Daughter-n-L was here yesterday and can be quite rude, and she really doesn't talk to me much and I get so frustrated with her, they left and I went to the basement and turned TV on instead of eating. DH came and found me and said what are you doing??? This isn't like you! At least I didn't eat! LOL So, I went out and rode my bycicle, those two things made me feel so much better than eating something I would regret.
Nancy, it is so nice that you and your DD will have time to spend together. I hope you have a great week with her.
Dawn, I can relate to the heaviness of pancakes and syrup! Going to bed instead of caving to the cravings is a great plan! You will get through it.
I really need to go and get busy bathing the dog and getting the laundry done. Love you all! have a great day!
