Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Dec 14-Dec 20,2020

If your hysterectomy was between Dec 14-Dec 20,2020 this is the place to post your progress during your hysterectomy recovery.

If you have a question about your hysterectomy recovery, please start a new thread to receive answers and support for your concerns instead of including the question in your update! There is information on how to start a new thread in this link: New Here? or you can use this link: Post a New Topic in the Post-Op forum.

Post how you are doing here when you are home and well enough to sit a few minutes at your computer.

We hope you are recovering well with plenty of rest and water and a bit of walking. Don't forget to pamper the princess!

How to use the Recovery Progress Reports thread:

  • 1. This thread is for the purpose of sharing updates on your recovery as you heal from your hysterectomy.

  • 2. Generally, ONE or TWO posts on this thread per member/per day is adequate to share your daily progress and to share encouragement with your surgery week Sisters.

  • 3. Remember to start a new thread on the Post-Op message board to ask your questions.

  • 4. The Progress Report threads now begin in our special forum for all Hysterectomy Recovery Reports and will remain there for you to always find your discussion.
  • 5. Remember all the love and support you got here as a pre-op member? Now it's YOUR turn to give back to the women in the Pre-Op Hysterectomy Support forum. Extend your hand and your hugs in replies to our pre-op ladies in waiting. This will complete our circle of women helping women!
  • 6. You can also share support and experiences with post-op members in all phases of recovery in the Post-Op Hysterectomy Support forum by replying on the new threads they create.

Had my robotic hysterectomy yesterday. Found it hard to sleep last night. Had to sleep on an incline cause of pain at incision sites. Today feeling ok. Finally passed gas after walking around some. Hurts when I pee and incisions hurt when I cough or sneeze. Constantly have to clear my throat. Assuming from the tube they stuck in. Still waiting to see my doctor. Don't even think I'm going to see her. Think it's going to be an on call dr. Really wanted to see her to ask how the surgery went and get details. She didn't even call my husband after like she said she would. And I have no bleeding

Had my laparoscopic surgery yesterday, I was super nauseous after surgery and last night, but slept ok. I would wake up every few hours uncomfortable due to the incisions but would be able to fall back asleep. Less nauseous today, just drinking plenty of water and planning on eating bland snacks and soup for lunch.

Hello lovely ladies!
Had my laparoscopic hysterectomy yesterday afternoon. They managed to save both ovaries so no HRT for me. I'm still in hospital, can't sleep, but I always have trouble sleeping and they didn't want me to take my Seroquel tonight. Not much pain, but they gave me a lot of different pain meds. It hurts less than the endometriosis, which wasn't as much as they thought it would be, guess I'm a wimp.
Hopefully I can go home later today, I want my preggo pillow and some biscuits and gravy. Hope y'all have a smooth speedy recovery!

I did not sleep last night, very sore today, even with pain meds. Dad just got to the hospital to drive me home, still waiting on the hospital pharmacy to bring my meds.
Hope everyone is recovering peacefully.

I’m on day 2 of recovery and even though I slept great last night, I’ve been very tired today. But hopefully the fatigue means we are healing nicely!! Keep us updated! Xoxo, Victoria

Home from the hospital, staying with Mom and Dad for a while. Mom had surgery last week, I said I hope neither of us fall on the floor cause we can't pick the other one up. Not much pain, just my belly button and my vaginal cuff hurt, everything else feels like I did a million crunches. Dr said I was textbook and the poster child for recovery. Truth is the catheter was the worst part and I wanted it out quickly. They said not until you can walk down the hall, I got up and started walking an hour after surgery I wanted that catheter out so bad.
Didn't sleep last night and now I'm wide awake, I see a crash nap in my future.
Hope everyone is doing well and STAY ON TOP OF YOUR PAIN MEDS! Like my soulsister says
Love

Had my total laparoscopic hysterectomy yesterday (dec 17th) it went well and I was able to keep my ovaries. I got home yesterday evening and have been resting. My husband really has done better than I thought he would taking care of me. My kids are at my moms which makes resting possible. Sleep isn’t happening much tonight. Pain is there it not terrible with the pain meds. I had the pain from being pumped with the air but I know that will go away soon. Overall I’m doing well. Just pain and discomfort but that’s to be expected. Big plans tomorrow.... of napping
