Bowel prep lasting 12 hours? Surgery in the morning!!!!

I started my bowel prep 11 hours ago and am still going..... Is this normal? I had to do the miralax prep. It's also red because I ate alot of red jello!!!! What if I am still going in the morning?

Veronalady, I am right there with you. I started mine yesterday at 6 am and just went again! I did the Colyte and mixed it with crystal lite, which was red. What goes in, must come out, and mine was red too, for awhile. My bowel has to be empty and sterile (start meds today) so am calling the doctor when the office opens to ask. I will let you know what they say.

I guess everyone is different. I had to do a bowel prep for a sigmoidoscopy and was still going to the bathroom when i was being prepped for the procedure! UGH ! How embarrassing to be so full of it that you can't get cleaned out! My sister also had this happen to her. We laugh and laugh about it now.

Luckily I didn't have to do any prep for my LAVH.

I was up all night the night before my surgery and went again at the hospital in the morning.
