Surgery Advice - Da Vinci ?

I live in Shreveport, Louisiana. I am 40 years old and am considering going ahead with my hysterectomy. My Dr suggested doing a da Vinci hysterectomy. He said there is less pain and his da Vinci patients recover faster. Has anyone had this?

I'm sorry, I'm not in your area, but I thought I'd reply anyway. I had a DaVinci hysterectomy (uterus only removed) on 8/15/11 and it went great. I highly recommend this type of procedure. I was supposed to stay overnight in the hospital, but was doing so well that they let me go home the same night. My recovery has been uneventful and I was driving about 4 days after surgery. I'd say by 2 weeks I was feeling really good and now at 6 weeks feel absolutely back to normal. I had seen two other OB/GYN's who said that my only option would eventually be an open abdominal hysterectomy. I'm so glad I kept looking until I found my surgeon.
