Mrs Meakins goodies

I was a little kid -- out trick or treating -- when you still could get home made goodies -- we went to this door and were handed these cookies.
They looked so good -- that I tried it right thereon her front porch. She had already shut the door -- so I rang the door bell again -- she noticed that I had one of her cookies in my hand and asked why I was tricker treating for more --
I told her I wasn't -- but would love to have the recipe.

So almost 35 years later -- I am still making them.


Mrs Meakins Goodies

1 cup white Karo
1 cup white sugar

stir and bring to boil over medium heat until the sugar mixture is clear.

Take off the heat -- and stir in
1 cup peanut butter

stir until melted.

once melted -- pour over
4 cups SPECIAL K ceral

stir until well coated

put unto wax paper into bite size cookies to cool.

(I always double the batch and make slightly bogger cookies -- but my family thinsk that they are the best )
