sisters in india (2004)

Hi,
Sorry, I'm another one not from India, but I live near by, and travel there a LOT. I'm actually from America, but have lived in Nepal for 15 years. I went for surgery and treatment to Thailand. Almost came to India, but the Hospital in Thailand was amazing!

Thumbs up - sisters in india (2004) Hello to all sisters

Hello all,

I,m Rekha from Mumbai. staying in DXB. I am 49 yrs young, and was diagnosed with endometrial cancer stage 1 in jan this year. I was operated in Mumbai, on 28th March with a vertical TAH,SO, with Pelvic node dissection. No radiation or chemotherapy was advised but have to go for complete checkups evry 3 mnths.

My surgery was so smooth, I cannot believe it. Touch wood I hope my furthwer recovery is same. On the first day itself I had hardly any pain, no nausea, and was passing gas easily. 2nd day I was sitting up, and 3rd day walked around the room, with some support as was still a bit groggy. From that day my surgeon asked me to wear an abdominal support belt while sitting and moving abouit. I had a catheter for a week, and had to pass BM with the cathter. That was not easy believe me. Had a bit of a problem after removal of catheter, as cld not pass urine for a fewhrs, but was feeling much better later. Discharged on 9th day.

Staples removed on 15th day. I am lucky to have my mom and bhabhi to look after me. Was advised not to lift wts, bend, twist, drive, not to get conspitaed. and abstinence for at least 6 weeks. After 6 weeks I was back in Dubai and am feeling fine. At 8 weeks post op planning to resume work next week.

I believe that regular Pranayam, before and after surgery has helped me a lot.

Howevr I still fel a burning sensation in my scar most times and at times, specially at night I feel a cutting sensation there. I also have a slight pain when I finish passing urine occasionally.

Basically, I am still wondering when to start bending over, sittting on the floor and start some simple exrecises. At the same time I do want to take all precautions for the muscles to heal and dont want to end up with an incisional hernia ( which my surgeon said i may get if I dont wear the abdominal belt and which I am still wearing ).

Now that is a long msg. Thank you for reading it and wish you all, a happy and complete recovery.
