How are you doing? Have you found it a lonely process? I never know what ache and pain is normal and I think I clearly underestimated how major the surgery is! X

Pretty much my experience. These forums are a godsend.
I find it so hard to just rest on days when I feel well and then do to much and feel awful the next day.
Every pain, spot of blood, hot flush and sweat make me wonder if I should go to the doctor.
You're not alone xx

Princess Royal here, im just starting to feel human again. My incision went from my belly button down to my pant line so sitting up has been a chore and a half! Already flushing.

Yeah I had a lateral incision but the join isn’t super clean so I have a few areas that are very slow healing (still bandaged other than small breaks). I can only just lay on my side (barely) in the last couple days. I’ve been sleeping on my back with pillows under my legs to emulate a hospital bed. When i was first released The pain was in one side (like tearing fire 3 inches from my incision) and now is just ‘normal’ pain in my incision. Needed tramadol and paracetamol like clockwork for the first couple weeks but havent really taken any pain relief regularly for the last few days so it’s a distinct improvement.

I’m not going back to work until after xmas though.

(((Ladies)))

It’s wonderful to see new friendships forming here in the Europe Neighborhood forum!

Please use the dedicated Post-Op area, however, for all discussions or updates regarding recovery. But you are more than welcome to chat here about local interests involving your county, city or town - or any other topics unrelated to hysterectomy per this forum's descriptor:

Where are you? Contact Other Hyster Sisters in your Area for chit chat and social get-togethers. (Pre-Op and Post-Op concerns should not be posted here. Please use Pre-Op/Post-Op forums above for hyst support)
Neighborhoods is one of very few areas on the site where we enjoy a welcome break from hysterectomy discussions!

We'll look for your ongoing recovery experiences on the dedicated support boards. With many thanks for understanding and best wishes for your continued recoveries!
