movies! suggestions needed and my list

{hope this is the right forum section}

During my recovery I have utilized the local public library and InterLibrary Loan system for dvds to watch. For those with Prime or netflix, definitely a bonus.

I thought maybe we could share what we enjoyed watching, to give each other more ideas when we run out of ways to sit quietly and rest (nothing horror/scary/paranormal please ).

My favorites (so far):

**Rosemary & Thyme series
**Poirot series
**I Love Lucy series
**Hetty Wainthropp Investigates the series (the actual movie was terrible)
**Foyle's War series
**Sue Thomas F. B. Eye series
I even watched some
**Gomer Pyle and a few
**Columbo &
**Vicar of Dibley. lol.

Anyone want to share ideas?

Re: movies! suggestions needed and my list

Omg I just discovered the Rosemary and Thyme series ....love, love, love! Also love Poirot!

(I don't garden or solve crime but R&T make me want to do both.)

When sick before surgery went through all seasons of Midsomers Murders and all the Miss Marples I could find.

I'm also watching Grimm, which I'm not focused enough to follow right now. For comedy where I don't have to think reruns of The Big Bang Theory, The Millers, and Friends. Through a norco haze the first night I saw an epi of Gilligan's Island and all I could focus on was how did they keep their clothes so clean on the island and why Ginger hadn't lost beading off her evening gowns. Dh changed the channel to shut me up...lol.

I hope to stay awake for the Amazing Race tonight,,,then after that back to R&T so I can escape.

Re: movies! suggestions needed and my list

I really like "movies with meaning" so these are just a few of my faves:
~Tuesdays With Morrie
~ The 5 people you meet in heaven
~ For One More Day
(all of the above are based on the books by Mitch Albom)

And if you have never seen "Pay it Forward" it is a must see!!

Nic, haven't seen those yet! Thanks!

Oh, and for some reason I am all into Anne of Green Gables all over again (as my children roll their eyes).

If you have Amazon Prime, have you tried the new BBC Sherlock series? If you like mysteries, you might enjoy it.

Mine had to watch the entire series of "Murder She Wrote" LOL

Another tip: If you have a friend/family member who has Netflix with Streaming (computer/app accessible) each account can have 2 users on at the same time!! So even if they are watching it- you can access it from the computer. My best friend shares mine because she doesn't have cable or an e-reader

I think my brother uses Netflix -- I should ask!

On the subject of Murder She wrote -- have you read the books? I read them last year and enjoyed them because they were mild and easy to read while health issues go on.

I haven't yet! Did you think they were much more violent than say, Foyle's War?
