Re: If you're post hysterectomy, did you keep your ovaries?
I was able to keep one ovary. The plan was to leave both, but the surgeon found significant endometriosis with attachments to the bowel and cysts, so she decided I was better off without it.

Re: If you're post hysterectomy, did you keep your ovaries?
I had one ovary out 18 years ago (ovarian cyst, endo and so everything adhered it had to go).....
This time around had a fibroid which was why my uterus was going to go and given my pain and other symptoms (and my age) I said to the surgeon I was fine him removing the left ovary along with the uterus. It turned out it was a right mess anyhow, full of endo and cysts. I had adhesions in many places (back passage to uterus, bowel to side, ovary to bowel and side, urethras... it was ugly apparently)... stage 4 endo hopefully everything now dealt with just need to recover.. so far hormones aren’t too bad!

If you're post hysterectomy, did you keep your ovaries?
Yes, I kept mine. The dr and I agreed that going in if she thought they looked fine she would leave them. If anything looked suspicious they would be taken. I got to keep both!

If you're post hysterectomy, did you keep your ovaries?
I was diagnosed with stage 1 endometrial cancer so it was advised that I had a total hysterectomy involving the removal of both ovaries and tubes.

Re: If you're post hysterectomy, did you keep your ovaries?
I kept my right ovary only because it looked fine and wasn’t causing problems. YET.

If you're post hysterectomy, did you keep your ovaries?
No. I was 3 years post menopausal and they weren’t functioning (hormone levels proved that). I am 4 weeks post op and am not on HRT and doing fine.
