Sore breasts and HRT

So confused.
I went to my gynecologist a couple of weeks ago with pain in the nipple area of my breasts.
He didn’t seem too concerned about it.
I am on estradiol patch .05.
When I sto0 it, the pain stops.
When I start the patch back up, it happens again.
I am having hot flashes because I haven’t put a patch on in 5 days again.
Does it sound like I need a lower dose?
Also, when I start back up with a patch, I get hot/ cold flashes and keep waking up at odd times all night.

Re: Sore breasts and HRT

Where are you wearing your patch? If you wear it on your rear, you could move it to your abdomen and that, in effect, would lower your dose. Absorption on the rear tends to be better than on the abdomen. If you are wearing your patch on your abdomen, you could ask your doctor for a lower dose and see how that goes. As you probably already know, it can take trial and error to figure out the best dose, method of delivery, etc.

Yes, expect to experience symptoms when you stop and then start hormones and/or when you change your dose up or down.
